This was one of the best most worthwhile tours I have ever taken. Really told the story from the enslaved persons view. It brought this part of history to a new life. I learned a lot and walked away with a new perspective. I would return to do this tour every time I am in the area.

The guided tour of the McLeod makes that experience well worth the price of admission. Our guide, John, was very knowledgeable about the McLeods and of their slaves. He was especially knowledgeable of the gulla geeche people who were a part of the McLeod plantation and post-plantation life. This was definitely an eye-opening experience for my family and I.

I am sure all the tour guides here are fantastic but WOW Jeff was absolutely amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable, very personable, and had me hanging on his words as we walked through the history of the plantation. Be sure to make this a stop while you are in town, you will not regret it.

Really interesting place! Focus is on the enslaved people who lived and worked on the plantation. Excellent tour given by Olivia. She was engaging and knowledgeable. I love that each guide can specialize in their area of interest, so we learned some of the specifics of enslaved women.
