It's not enough that this bridge is really interesting to look at, it's also fun to cross. Car, bike, and/or walk across the bridge. Beautiful architecture combined with incredible engineering. The bridge spans the Cooper River and connects Charleston to Mt. Pleasant. Free to cross, it's really busy at all times of the day. If you're on foot or a... More

If you are physically up to a 2-1/2 mile walk up and down the bridge, very well worth it. We walked it around 10 a.m. on a beautiful day with blue skies and white clouds with temp under 80 degrees, lovely breeze all the way. Started at Charleston and ended at the visitor center at Mt. pleasant, then took the... More

Tried to ride a 1960's beach cruiser over this bridge was ready to pass out by the time we reached the high point. Great bridge with stunning views of harbor.

Beautiful bridge for biking, walking, running, or driving. It feels much safer than the bridge it replaced. Be sure to check it out when it's lit up at night.

There is a waterfront park on the Mt. Pleasant side with free parking. The bridge itself has a wonderful pedestrian and cycling path with lots of room for everyone. It's wonderful to walk to the top on a hot summer's night. The breeze is wonderful and the landscape below otherworldly!

Just a great looking bridge with beautiful views of the area. Only negative which is true about most Charleston highways is the traffic at commuter times. Reminds me of the Long Island Expressway for those who know N.Y. At other times it is a joy to see and cross over.

This is an easy walk from either side. The views of the City are spectacular, and the entire waterfront scenery is very spiritually moving. I do it 2 to 3 times a week. It always "makes my day".

The Ravenel is NOT lovely when you're in bumper-to-bumper traffic but when you're driving west and the sun is setting, it's a beauty -- and it's even prettier from the water

I had seen pictures of this bridge many years ago and always wanted to travel across it. My husband and I drove to Charleston over the bridge and enjoyed the amazing views from this grandiose structure.

The bridge walk is a great walk for exercise or just the view. It is probably best to park and walk up from the north or Mt Pleasant side as there is close parking and bathrooms. It is breath takeingly high and cool to look down on the huge ships passing below. It is a steep hike to the top... More
