Since we live in the neighborhood, we have become members. And we have been thrilled with the two openings we have attended. They attract top talent for their main galleries. And their student exhibits are worth seeing, especially the art of their printmaking students -...More

Thank you so much for the glowing review! While we focus on presenting the work of emerging, mid-career, and oddly overlooked artist, the annual juried student exhibition, Young Contemporaries, is always a lot of fun. It's wonderful to see what the College of Charleston's students...More

We didn't research well and discovered it is closed until January....19th, I think. But you can walk the College of Charleston campus which is so pretty and perfect for picture taking. We ended up on King street shopping since we couldn't see the museum.More

Oh no! We're sorry to have missed you. As we are the contemporary art space for the College of Charleston with one gallery space we do have to close for installation in between shows. We're happy you were able to see some other spaces at...More

The Halsey is not the Corcoran in DC or some other monstrously large gallery of art but their consistently outstanding exhibits showing artists like Alyson Shotz and Shepard Fairey bring the creative work we need to see in Charleston broadening peoples experience and horizons beyond...More

Halsey is absolutely worth a drop in when you are in downtown Charleston. The gallery features amazing work of international artists, enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff and CofC students, and yes, free 'h' stickers to boot. I found the recent pairing of Jumaadi and Picasso at...More

Thank you for the 5-star review! We put lots of energy into our temporary exhibitions and it's thrilling when the juxtapositions like Picasso's photography and an Indonesian shadow puppet pair well. Hopefully, you've got an 'h' sticker in every color by now. We hope you...More
