It has been a few years but this place is as good as ever. You should skirt the crowds that fill the market if you plan on going by on the weekend by coming in on a side street. But definitely take the trip here.

My husband and I found the Charleston Candy Kitchen after our carriage tour. I love this candy store! The staff are very welcoming and helpful. We visited every afternoon for a snack before dinner. I discovered and enjoyed their scrumptious dark chocolate gophers which are amazing. Look forward to visiting the next time we return to Charleston.

Free samples and yummy candy. it is overwhelming to see all the delicious candies in the store. Fresh made and novelty candies from days gone by. You have to stop by at least for a free sample.

We were walking up the street to catch our carriage ride and saw and smelled the goodies in this store. We walked in to poke around and ended up picking up a few things. My hands down favorite, the milk chocolate gophers. I've already ordered a bunch to share with friends and family over Christmas. Will definitely return when in... More

There are fudge shops on many corners here in Charleston, but what I like about Charleston's Candy Kitchen is the fact that I can buy small samples, although it can be a bit pricey. My mom and I both have a huge sweet tooth, so we stopped in. We shared samples of fudge, 'gophers' and praline chocolate 'cookies.' Every bite... More

We stumbled upon this shop walking back to our hotel after dinner. We were very glad we didn't have dessert as we ended up buying treats to take home for our family and our staff and ended up "tasting" the pralines. We had pralines in New Orleans and Savannah and these were every bit as good -- and they gave... More

We visited here for a taste of pralines and these are the best downtown by far. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Place was very cool. Entice you with free sample of pralines but worth it. Some old school candy that brought me back to my childhood days. Very friendly staff

The Candy Kitchen offers excellent caramel apples. We bought one to go and ate it later at night in our hotel. The apple was fresh and juicy, and the caramel was one of the best we've had! This is just a shop, though; there is no seating to enjoy your sweets.

My boys and I got ice cream here during our vacation in July. It must have been good because it was consumed in record time. We enjoyed trying some flavors before buying and while prices weren't cheap, it was at least good ice cream.
