Join a 13th generation Middleton, for a personalized local perspective. End the tour in a private garden with refreshments. Walk with a local who grew up romping the streets of the downtown peninsula. The history of the city will come alive through the bricks and mortar still standing.

Our tour with Anne was wonderful. She packed so much interesting information into two hours and conveyed it with such enthusiasm. We toured in the morning and it was hot but Anne made sure to find shady places at each stop. Well worth taking two hours of your time to experience this top notch tour.

This tour was a great way to learning about the city and its people. Anne is a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who personalize the tour by incorporating comments and memories from her childhood. The paste of the walk was easy to cop with and the multiple stops were significant to the history events or stories that were told. Overall,... More

Very interesting and worth your time. You get to see much and learn much from a great tour guide. The older architecture was amazing to see, what a great city.

We were so lucky to get Brad (aka Cornwallace) all to ourselves. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon ! We got an up close look at the long and rich history of Charleston and its residents. We got a glimpse of what it is like to live SOB today as members of a "been here a long, long... More

Anne was our tour guide on this delightful and informative tour. She provided us with an insider's, local perspective to Charleston with a tour that was both entertaining and educational. We throughly enjoyed our time with Anne, as did our three children (ages 13, 11, and 8).

Our tour guide was Anne Middleton Herron. She is a direct descendant of one of the great families of Charleston and puts that family passion into her discussion of the city. I have visited Charleston for years and always heard of the walled city but never knew where the walls were. Well, the walls are mostly gone but you will... More

Based upon the exceptional TripAdvisor reviews - I made online reservations for our History of Charleston Walking Tour for our first day visiting Charleston. Anne was our tour guide. As a 13th generation Charlestonian - her passion and knowledge throughout the tour was so captivating. The Civil War, culture, slavery, architecture history and overall character of the city came alive... More

My family of five enjoyed immensely our walking tour of Charleston's historical district with Anne Middleton. Anne, a 13th generation Charlestonian and a descendant of one of the city's founding families, is incredibly knowledgeable, lively and personable. We all felt that we were getting a true insider's view of the history of Charleston. Our tour was supposed to last only... More
