We had a wonderful tour on route 1. Our driver and guide was full of historical knowledge as he is also a High School History teacher and was very enjoyable. We learned so many new historical facts we hadn't during past carriage tours and this was our third in five years while visiting. Carolina was our horse who pulled us... More

Carriage ride was nice, beautiful city. However, our tour guide was very non-chalant about the tour; he didn't say much of anything about the history of the city or the houses, nor did he give in-depth answers when questions were asked. I don't recall his name, but according to other reviews, this attitude is not company wide. Our interaction with... More

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience here. We appreciate the kind words about our hardworking team. It does, however, appear that one of our team members did not deliver an exceptional experience. I can assure you that your comments will be shown to our entire staff as a training tool. We would like to... More

Booked this tour in hopes of seeing some of the bay front, the battery and rainbow row....it did not disappoint! Our tour good, who also doubles as a high school teacher, was most knowledgeable and shared so much interesting information about Charleston! It would appear the city of Charleston works hard not only to share the great history of their... More

Guide was unkept and uninteresting. Had the worst route of any tour we have ever taken there. No Battery, no Rainbow Row but taken by local grocery stores. Many of the homes were only 75 years old and rarely did he let us know any history of the actual historic homes. This was a private tour for $150. Save your... More

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience here. Unfortunately, the City of Charleston is in charge of randomly doling out one of four routes that each carriage will receive through the historic district of Charleston. This is determined by a spin of a bingo ball machine and is completely random. We recommend a private walking... More

Everything about the tour was wonderful. Our tour guide Raymond was very polite and informative. We had the good looking horse "Riley" who listened very well take care of us. The horses in this company are well taken care of and seem to enjoy their job as much as the tour guides do. I would definitely recommend to anyone who... More

This will by far be the best way to spend an hour on your trip to Charleston, aka "Chucktown." The company uses horses instead of donkeys like Palmetto, and has knowledgable and entertaining guides. I have taken multiple tours with this company and others in Charleston, and this company has consistently won me over!

We took a private "Vis a vis" tour, and we LOVED IT! Excellent guide, very informative, and fun!! We leaned a lot and felt like we got to experience the city from a fun vantage point.

We absolutely loved our tour of BEAUTIFUL Charleston and enjoyed learning more about the city's rich history. Our tour guide, Ryan, was fantastic--very knowledgeable and funny! If you're undecided about whether or not to book a tour, or wondering which carriage company to go with...You won't be disappointed with Carolina Polo & Carriage Company! Be sure to ask for Ryan!

My wife and I had a fantastic tour with the Carolina Polo and Carriage Company. We ended up going twice with this company. Once on a Friday afternoon and then on a Saturday morning. There are many guides and several different routes that can be taken. Be aware that you can not choose which route you will take. The city... More
