We went through here during the week when the park was filled with happy, fun-loving college students. Beautiful day. We then went through here on the following Sunday when every park bench was filled with someone (not college students) sleeping and/or passed out. Not a...More

As far as the layout of Charleston goes, Marion Square is actually in the northern half of the peninsula. But to me, it feels absolutely in the middle of the city. And of course, the Saturday morning food market that takes place there from April...More

Trying to find a place to eat our Callie’s biscuit we thought we’d try Marion square. It’s a beautiful sunny morning, but the place is littered and we can’t seem to find a bench. Several homeless still asleep.

If you are walking and walking mid town , this is a potential place to stop and rest your feet. There may be folks on perimeter who may or may bother some folks- it is a public space- deal with it

We have been here for a few events and have always been pleased with the time we have spent in Marion Square. Well kept and clean. The place was very crowded during the SEWE events but fun.

We visited during February, and Marian Square appeared to be almost barren; maybe a few trees without leaves on the perimeter. And, also on the perimeter were homeless persons sleeping.

Staying at the Francis Marion Hotel with a room over looking the park. It was winter, so rather dull outside. The corner outside our room with the fountain is a big gathering space for folks "speaking their minds." Preachers, musicians, etc. I am sure it's...More

Nice park to spend some time. Snow was on the ground when we visited but still seemed to be a quiet and reflective spot in the city.
