We took the ferry from the park service building next to the aquarium. A parking garage is right across the street. Parking was $8 for the visit. Ferry and tour at the fort was $21 per person. It takes 30 minutes to get across the...More

Arrive early to the dock or you will have to stand on the ride over! Fort Sumter is an incredible national treasure. To be walking the grounds where the civil war started was sobering and compelling. The museum is excellent and the original American flag...More

Great little tour of a National Monument. Entrance to the monument us free but we needed to purchase ferry tickets. The ferry leaves very close to on time but they pack people on. Very interesting and important place in our country's history.

The ferry ride over is well run and very peaceful with beautiful views of the harbor and the Charleston peninsula. Once on the Fort, things felt a little rushed as we only had 1 hour to visit the museum and walk around the Island. Still...More

We saw plenty of dogs in the area. I don't believe the one we were at offered that option.
