Always a must do in Charleston

Have come to the market since 1984. Visit today- just as good. Suggest coming in milder weather. Market is center of activity.

This Flea Market, open daily at 10AM, stretches some 4-5 blocks long. I've found it to be okay as flea markets go, but let the buyer beware - some of the popular items sold within it, such as the famous Carolina red and gold rice, among other tourist tidbits such as pralines, biscuits and pecans, are actually priced higher than... This was great FREE entertainment. There was a lot of duplication of vendor goods. I saw same cookbooks at multiple tables. I did enjoy the variation of ART vendors. Their work was unique and one of a kind.

A very well organised market that's under cover in a very long stretch of buildings . Worth doing but you will see lots of the same things for sale every second stall it seemed .

Very little original work was on display. A lot of common "tourist" stuff. Non of the vendors seemed very interested.

This is a fun hour or so walk through. Genuine artists selling one of a kind. Of course all the sweet grass baskets that seem pricey but a wonderful investment, very usable and such history.

In a lengthy building , you can find all kind of little selling places, more like a flee market . Very dense , nice atmosphere .

It is fun to stroll around the Charleston City Market. That being said, I don't know that there are any "must buys" or anything like that. Absolutely worth doing for fun though.

Went here while visiting family nearby with my 15 yo. Didn't buy much but enjoyed our time is this beautiful spot! Very clean, public bathrooms, safe area. Shopping with different vendors from clothing & jewelry to spices, souvenirs, art, snacks, food items, crafts. Many restaurants and bars in the area. Lovely area for candid photos.
