I been stopping at this place before it was famous. I love to stop here whenever I am travelling 401 east going to other cities or provinces. This here is a great and refreshing stop. This time they killed it! before it used to be just pies and bread but now they have extended to more items, a cafe, candy... More

The Big Apple is a bakery and fabulous rest stop. Grilled Apple Bread Cheese sandwiches were delicious. We usually, buy something frozen on our way home as it is only about an hour or so from home. The washrooms are usually very clean. There are some fun things for the little ones to see to stretch their legs and lots... More

The food here is OK but when the place is busy, it takes awhile to get it at the order counter. They make apple pies here - lots of them - and have made over 5 million to date, according to their sign. The washroom was not particularly clean. Kids will like the place because there are small animals in... More

This is my 3rd review of The Big Apple. It has been 3.5 years since I last stopped to buy an apple pie. Unfortunately their traditional apple pies still suck! Pasty, dry and tasteless crust. Lots of filling with little flavor. Their pie gets a 2 our of 10. It will likely be another 3 years before I stop in... More

It had been, maybe, ten years since I had stopped at The Big Apple, but it was at a nice half way point between my home and a weekend stay in Prince Edward County, so we made a stop. Completely rearranged from what I remember, it is very spacious, so you don't need to worry even if the parking lot... More

I took my 3 1/2 year for lunch. We had the apple grilled cheese and some poutine. It was pricey with drinks but the food was awesome and the portions were good. In the summer when all the stuff outside is open would be better. I was able to grab a bottle of the 401 cider from the store. They... More

Stopped for lunch, I found it very confusing but finally ordered from the cafeteria, the food was not bad but the prices were crazy, I do not know how a family could possibly afford lunch there. Two cokes one chicken sandwich and onion rings. $23.00 Judge for yourself

Dear Allan - thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you found us a bit expensive, but everything is made to order and made on-site.
