We stopped in after visiting the mansion. They were having a tea party there, so it kind of messed up our tour. It was self guiding but without headphones. It was fixed all up for Christmas and looking very nice.

The audio tour provides a great way to see the wonderful house and grounds. Plan on spending at least two hours. The gardens are always changing through the seasons.

Really enjoyed touring this lovely mansion in Bristol, RI. This estate has all of it's original furniture and a great history. Strolling through the gardens which take you down to the bayside is a treat.

The name Blithewold comes from "Old English" meaning happy woodland. It was the name the Van Wickle family chose in the late 19th century when they acquired the property.
