This is a great place to visit. The grounds are very well taken care of and it's a nice place to walk around. We often take our dog here (dogs are allowed on leash). The buildings are beautiful, as are the surrounding grounds. Highly recommend if you're looking for some local history or a quiet place to relax.

This is a great place to go and have a picnic or you can go when they are having a special event and learn some local history. They often do walking guided tours with actors and story tellers. I have done a candlelight tour that was fun and interesting. There are many old building to look at and statues. If... More

I have to admit I am biased. I am the 6th great-grandson of Conrad Weiser. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The home itself has suffered a fire and a tornado. The exterior walls are original, the interior has been expertly rebuilt to represent the time period. I was totally absorbed during my visit. Reading the guestbook was a who's-who of... More

The Conrad Weiser Homestead is operated by a private volunteer organization ever since the state of Pennsylvania eliminated funding a few years ago. Although it is not open daily, the dedicated volunteers run a quality program using reenactors. They are very knowledgeable and provide a complete discussion of Conrad Weiser's life. The grounds are well maintained in spite of the... More

My Mother and I stopped by the Conrad Weiser Homestead for their Living History Sunday. It's been many years since we visited. I've been researching genealogy on my Mother's side of the family and found Conrad Weiser in the family tree! It was a lovely Spring day to see the buildings and learn about Conrad's peacekeeping efforts with the Indian... More

Check for open times, they've cut down with the budget cuts. But you can still attend regular events on colonial life with volunteers in period garb to explain. Great for kids, out of town visitors or just to learn a bit about Colonial PA history.

This cabin restoration was obviously a labor of love. I stayed here by myself in the early fall/late summer. The cabin was spotless, the surrounding meadow had mini donkeys grazing. At night one would bray and the others would chime in. It didnt bother me because they were just another part of the experience. The bed was pretty firm-I adjusted... More

Beautiful park to take my dog walking or for exploring the history of Conrad Weiser. It has picnic tables and even a gazebo if you want to have a picnic. Very well maintained too!

As some previous reviewers stated, it is absolutely best to go on a day where there are activities planned. Many historical attractions are open daily, but unless you already know the history of the area/era you won't fully appreciate the experience. I would recommend wearing closed toed shoes. Pathways are gravel and there are some small hills. I would not... More
