The mansion of the former owners of Centre Furnace, located across the street, has been well-maintained, decorated with traditional furnishings, and and serves as the Society's center. It is available for exhibits, socials, receptions, etc. Tours are available.

This part of Pennsylvania has not always been an education institution. A commercial center of Pennsylvania, the home of seven state governors, an early scholastic football powerhouse (Bellefonte Academy), a center of ecumencial tolerance and welcome in the 17h century, and a mining and agricultural powerhouse. The Centre Furnace Mansion is a center of all of these activities and has... More

The grounds, which contain a Sycamore that, according to records, was growing on site in 1740, are lovingly cared for. The house itself is furnished in high Victoriana with... More

It was nice to have somewhere different to take my brother & his wife when they visited. The guides are superb and the displays are surprisingly fun & educational. I didn't think I'd like looking in rooms, but they have done an excellent job w/ this museum. They have a healthy appreciation of history and a great commitment to the... More
