The Berks County Heritage Center is a wonderful trip back in time, from the covered bridge across the Tulpehocken Creek to the Gruber Wagon Works. The wagon works faced imminent destruction by the Blue Marsh Dam project and was saved only by a Herculean effort....More

We visited on a rainy day so we ended up having the place to ourselves with private tour guide. Very friendly people and good place to spend an afternoon rain or shine.

The Berks County Heritage Center is definitely a must-see if you are interested in local history and such.

If you are interested in local history,canals and wagon works this is a spot you need to visit. You can walk there from the Red Bridge area or bike there from Grings Mill.

Another great place in reading. It's a trip that I really enjoyed. There's a German sculpture there that raises more than a few eyebrows, trust me.
