As an architecture buff, I found the University of Pittsburgh to be a delight to wander around. It shows off a variety of styles, including Beaux-Arts, Greek Revival, Italian Renaissance and Modern. The masterpiece here, however, remains the 42-story Late Gothic Revival Cathedral of Learning....More

The University of Pittsburgh covers a huge area in the eastern part of town. Among many University buildings, the Cathedral of learning with its Learning National rooms and tower, and the Heinz Chapel stand out. They're really worth visiting for a couple of hours.

This is a "city" university - located in the town itself. It does not have the character of a campus located in its own part of the town but is very impressive, well laid out and a fun walk around!
