We went through Market Square on a Monday morning and there was an open air market, with several vendors showing their wares. There are some chairs to sit in and relax. And there is some art to look at to keep you entertained.

The collection of eateries in this area, combined with the wonderful architectures, made this visit so amazing! I love this city!

Lots of restaurants. The night we went it was some kind of festival. There were tents with vendors selling jewelry, popcorn, etc.

We hit Market Square on a Friday around 4pm. There was plenty of open restaurants, places to stop and have a drink or people watch. There had just been a marathon, so lots of runners around the area. I am glad I went and saw...More

Such fun to walk into Market Square and see all those umbrellas with lots of people chatting and enjoying the Pittsburgh summer! The big checkers game, nice places to grab lunch and sit outside...altogether a very pleasant place for people watching!

Used to be just old and dirty.....40 years ago.....but now it is a beautifully conceived arena for food and fashion....What nostalgia blended with modern times....

This is a great place to saunter and search for lunch options. We visited on a Friday lunchtime in July. The choice for meals ran from standard US-franchises to local specialties like NOLA on the Square and Primanti Sandwich Brothers.

Our bike tour let us stop and walk around at the various vendors. Would go back and buy more....from breads, oils, produce, flowers, cookies....plus there was live music and tables with chairs. Also liked looking around at the various high rise buildings.

Not sure to which DoubleTree you refer. Check with Google Maps.

It's less than a mile and 5th street is mostly flat. It takes about 15 minutes. Walking is a good idea since parkingis an issue around Market Square
