This was recommended as a must see attraction by native to the area. It was perfect on a hot, almost summer day. We had to drag our kids away. It was great to sit back, relax, and enjoy the views. My kids stopped complaining about...More

These steps are located at the river's edge near the I-279 bridge over the Allegheny River (between PNC Park and Heinz Field). Great for kids, pets and adults to cool off in but there is no shade here. The entire North Shore is worth walking...More

So this is a fountain with a series of descending steps that water flows towards the river. Although simple, our entire family enjoyed this spot and the kids asked if we could go back the next day.

This is a great place to bring the kids on a nice day, and splash around in the water is. The sounds of the rushing waters create a wonderful and soothing oasis of tranquility right next-door to PNC Park.

Beautiful view! Fun place to go sit and relax or "play" in the water. People of all ages would enjoy the Water Steps. Large area, lots of people visit the water steps. I wouldn't miss coming here when I visit Pittsburgh.

Fun in the summer. Small kids love it. Free and a beautiful view of downtown. One of my favorite places in Pittsburgh. If you are on the north sure it is hard not to stop by there, hang out, and enjoy the view.

We've been here quite a few times. Most recently to watch the regatta. They have many family friendly events which are really good. There's always interesting people and it's very safe.

You can walk to Point State Park via the I-279 bridge over the Allegheny River. Depending on how fast you walk, it should take 10-20 minutes.
