I visited the aviary this summer with my brother. We both booked a sloth encounter and it was definitely the experience of a lifetime we hoped for. We loved being able to pet and feed the sloth. You can also take as many photographs as...More

I really enjoyed visiting the aviary. My favorite was the penguins, which you can almost touch, you can watch them dive and swim and even a bubble you can stand under to be in the midst of them. My other favorite was the grassland birds....More

This lovely place in Pittsburgh is one of the best aviaries we ever visited. Many varieties in different settings, indoors and out. For us the highlights were the playful penguins and the large number of baby flamingos. There are regular talks and demonstrations. It has...More

We like birds, so we rode the T under the river and strolled up there. Very friendly staff working inside, able to talk birds and ask questions we had and they had the answers. Feed the lorikeets the nectar, worth the extra charge. They are...More

Many types of interesting birds. The Penguins were the best. It is worth the extra money to do a penguin encounter. We got to pet the penguin. I also did a feeding which is pricey, but so amazing.

Found out about this place on a whim through Tripadvisor and as a huge bird nerd- we went that very same day! Exceeded expectations! Each room is done very well for the selected birds. Great detail, very true to climate, very open and peaceful. Was...More

A great place to watch the birds. There was an amazing variety of birds. Well worth the cost of entry. My only complaint is that a sizeable minority of guests there are menaces to bits society; clearly, some people shouldn't be allowed to interact with...More

Well worth a visit. Kids weren't too keen on going but once we got inside they loved it. The adults loved it too!

Your admission is good to come and go, don't know if there is picnic area, there is some outside areas but they were closed to the public for an event
