If you are into a botanical experience in Pittsburgh, in the downtown (say darntarn) area-head to Phipps Conservatory. It's great. Easy to walk around and so much to ooh and ahh about.

I love Phipps! I love that they redecorate for every season and bring in seasonal flowers. My favorite time to go is around Christmas when they have the lights out in the courtyard.

If you are an avid plant enthusiast like I am this place is for you. Every room is like stepping into another world. Personally, the orchid room is my favorite because of the smells it brings.

This was one of the first stops we made on a cross country road trip with my daughter. It was really beautiful. They were setting up their Christmas displays and it was quite pretty!! Gorgeous sculptures and gorgeous gardens. Great way to start our trip!...More
