Having grown up in Pittsburgh (and having ancestors who designed this and other inclines,) I always ride the Duquesne when I am in this part of Pennsylvania. The old stations and cars literally and figuratively carry me back. I prefer to take an Uber or...More

Fantastic views of the city. But to reach the platform from the parking lot below requires climbing about two stories worth of stairs. Hand rails are sturdy and steps wide enough to make the climb easily. Better to park at top and ride down. Not...More

Our six year old granddaughter told her parents she most wanted to ride the inclines in Pittsburgh. We went up on one, ate on the top of Mt Washington, then walked to the other and came down. Came back on the bikeway at the bottom....More

Great view from the top, lines are sometimes quite long but it is worth the wait. There are a number of restaurants at the top.

If you are visiting the city, a ride on the incline is a must stop. Historic vertical trolley cars with old world woodworking, the view, and reliving what was many people’s daily commute up and down the mountainside back in the day.

I love the wood interior of the cars. The view is amazing. Never do this on a day of a baseball or football game, the lines are crazy long. Worth doing, walk around Mt. Washington at the top. The views up there are wow wow...More

At the top of the incline are several excellent restaurants. I like the smaller ones best, because they are intimate and if without a reservation, you might be able to still have a view without a window seat.
