We loved the short hike and enjoyed the stunning view. We went right before sunset. The signs were a little confusing, but we figured it out. Though it was beautiful to see the sky right before sunset, the sun was super bright and it was hard to look at the sky and its reflection in the water. Bring sunglasses.

The view from here is fabulous, watching the sun drop down towards the river, framed by woods on each side. My kids loved the freight train that went by the base of the overlook while we were there.

Going to check this out was mentioned to me when I was visiting for the weekend. I didn't go into the "state park portion". WHICH ONE REVIEW SAID YOU HAVE TO TURN BY THE DAYCARE. This IS accurate. However, I didn't have much time, so I just wanted the view. I'd say the actual parking for the LOOKOUT is about... More

The Susquehanna river is one of the great old rivers in this country. The overlook is a great place to see it from. Easy access and nice wide trail make for a great stop. Very close to the northwest walking trail also.

I love the lookout here no matter what time of day. This is one of those cool places that you can take just about anyone. The trail is so easy, and the view at the top phenomenal. The entrance comes quickly so it can be really easy to miss. Keep your eyes peeled and foot light on the gas peddle!

I have visited Chickies Rock Park all my life, even before it was a park. If you want a great view of the Susquehanna River this is the place to go. It is a great little walk, not too strenuous, and at the end the view is super.

Recommended for any adventurous people who loves to hike everywhere! I love going here with my action camera and take amazing photo shoots of the sunset while sitting on the rock overlooking over the Susquehanna river because it's so peaceful. I do not recommend you sitting over the rocks if you think you will fall, please do not go over... More

Nice trails and views of the river. If you have some luck there are fossils to be found in the rock.

I took a 2 year old and 5 year old by myself on this hike. It is right off the highway. It is not a far hike to the look out and it is pretty flat. There is a short section that branches off and goes up a small hill that then come back down and meets up with the... More
