Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Airshow advice: DO NOT purchase shaded seats for double the price thinking you will be able to see the entire show. The shaded seats are completely covered - meaning, only those sitting in the first 2 rows get 100% visibility of the planes. If you must sit further back (and some will, as they sell more than can fit in the first 2 rows) you cannot view the planes as they ascend higher up. Of course, the Raceway ticket sale site doesn't alert you of this fact when you purchase. Buyer beware!

I would say if you’re interested in doing ridealongs but not from near the area, don’t bother booking in advance. We booked in advance working our schedule around a surgery which is being followed by a move. They canceled on us due to rain (understandably for safety reasons). They will not work with us on any kind of refund as per their rain policy. All they will offer is a rain check. It doesn’t matter we are a military family unlikely to be able to reschedule (surgery and move). Just be forewarned if you book ahead at all you’re taking a chance. 😕

We took a free tour of the POCONO RACEWAY a week after the race. It was absolutely fabulous! Mike took us all around the racetrack and explained all the areas of it. We had such a GREAT time. We would definitely recommend this to anyone!!

We booked tickets online for the airshow. Its definitely warm so plan accordingly. Hat, glasses, sunscreen, noise canceling. The ticket scanner did not work at the gate so they had to look up the reservation. They had food vendors and outdoor stations. The marines were there. We loved the airshow. The traffic and parking take a while. They organized parking well. They warned us beforehand. The blue Angels were the highlight of the show. Its completely worth watching! The tickets are reasonable.

Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA is home of the Pennsylvania 500 and Pocono 500 races. The track provides for an exciting race with higher speeds than other tracks due to its tri-oval shape. A must do is the pre-race pit passes. These allow you access to the pitroad for activities prior to the race and other days prior to raceday. Lower seats do not allow you to see turn 2 racing but any seats in the second level will provide for a good view. Have seen many races there and recommend seats towards turn 3. Leave plenty of time prior to the race to arrive as it gets very busy the closer to racetime.

We visited Pocono Raceway for the ABCSupply 500 on Sunday, August 23. It was our first time at Pocono and seeing an Indycar race. We splurged and bought seats in the Terrace Club with food and beverage included, as well as paddock passes. As this was our first time attending a race, we didn't know exactly what to expect and Pocono Raceway's website isn't terribly helpful.
Overall, we had a great time. We could see most of the track from our seats and it was covered, so weather wasn't an issue. The majority of track employees we dealt with were very nice, though sometimes they did not have any idea what they were doing. I certainly did not find them rude.
The paddock pass was well worth it, as was getting to the track early. It was really neat to get to see the crews and the cars up close.
Some things I wish I had known:
- Food:
- Breakfast was some pastries/muffins that wasn't served until about 10:30/11:00am.
- Water and soda were readily available all day.
- Beer and wine were served beginning at noon and were served for four hours. There were two types of wine and the beer was Yuengling Light.
- Lunch was served around 12:30pm and was hot dogs, brats, sauerkraut, pork roast, potatoes, pasta salad and corn. (I've probably missed something). It was much better than I expected given the venue.
- Dessert was brownies and cookies, served around 3:30pm. People acted like vultures and swarmed the trays, taking mountains of cookies and brownies. Once they were gone, they were gone.
Access: The Terrace Club is at the top of the grandstand, but below the Skybox. Unless you have a disability pass, you will not be allowed to use the elevator. I found out later you need to call the track ahead of time to get a pass.
We had an amazing time and would absolutely go again, I just might do some things differently.

I paid $250 X 2 to watch Axalta 400 from the Terrace Club, the only covered stands in the whole place. These seats were to include food and exclusive bathroom facilities. Sunday was rainy, which is certainly not Pocono's fault.
While we were waiting for official notice of a postponement, the food servers were instructed not to put food out. After they announced the postponement to Monday, they also announced that there would be no food service on Monday. That's low.
Additionally, the layout of the track is such that all of the corners are about 1/2 mile away from the front-straight only grandstands. The cars are not recognizable 80% of the time.
Go to another track. Watkins Glen is a far superior experience.

We are so glad we splurged on tickets in the France Tower. We could see the entire track and had a great day! There is no way the people in the lower levels could see more than a small portion of the track. It was a little odd that the Tower seats are "bench type" while the lower seats are actual seats. Our row got a little full when everyone was seated due to a few good sized men who took more than their share of the seating. There was free food - not great but okay- along with free beer, wine and soft drinks. Probably the best thing was the view and having plenty of restrooms nearby. Getting out of the parking lot onto 115 took one hour, then once on 115 traffic moved fast. Overall an excellent experience.

VERY UNHAPPY FAN. SHAME ON YOU POCONO RACEWAY (6/7/15)
We went to the race this weekend and once you entered the Nascar fan merchandise truck area and concession area you were not allowed to leave the area and go back to your car. If you went back to your car you had to buy another ticket to enter again. You couldn't enjoy the fan area at all if you wanted to go back to your car. What a bad idea it is to do that to your fans. You had so many people that were mad because of this. The last few years you could go to the fan area with no problems. We wanted to take our sons to the fan area around 9:30 go back to our car and eat lunch. But if we did that you wouldn't let us back in. AGAIN what a bad idea. Take some ideas from Dover. They know how to treat the Nascar fans with their fan area. Congrats to Truex Jr. on the win. I hope you change it back to the way it was the last few years and FIRE those who came up with this stupid idea.

So you've never been to auto races? Don't be scared! Pocono Raceway (aka The Tricky Triangle) was my first Nascar race experience & it was really FUN! This venue has lots of heart, character & history.
Here's a few tips (that I learned) to hopefully make your race day visit better & more comfortable:
* Coolers of goodies! Lots of folks around me in the grand stands had small soft coolers with refreshments & food. That can keep your trip cost down (particularly if you have kids). [Obviously check the food & beverage policy in advance so you're not surprised at check in.]
* Earplugs. Everyone says it's loud. It is. Really loud. Even with ear plugs, it will be really loud. Do your self a favor. Bring 'em. Wear 'em.
* Hat. Even if you think a hat isn't your thing. Seriously, wear one.
* Sunscreen. Duh.
* Coozie. Enjoy the coooool even longer.
* Sharpie on a necklace lanyard. You never know when you'll see a driver & have an autograph opportunity!
* Wear some racing swag, camo or red, white & blue. This may seem odd to folks who have never been to a race. But other fans will be wearing cool stuff in support of their favorite drivers / teams. You'll have more fun if you get into the spirit.
Enjoy the day!

Are there any public beaches near by to swim at? I’ve been researching but can’t find anything.
Written 11 July 2019
If you'll settle for water without the beach there are two pretty cool water parks less than 30 minutes away ... Kalahari and Camelbeach at Camelback Mountain.

What time do the gates open to get into parking lot ??
Written 25 July 2017
8am, usually. Call the track to be sure.
Written 3 August 2017

Written 19 July 2017
The Guest Services tent located at Gate # 8 before you enter the Pedestrian Tunnel to go to the Paddock and Pit area is a monitored area you can leave your cooler while in the Pits.

Is there any air conditioning?
Do you recommend seat cushion?
Any suggestions for first timers?
Written 7 June 2017
300 level ($150) is shaded, but no AC, seat cushion completely optional (I did not felt like needing it). Suggestion would be to seat in 300 level (if able to afford)... 100 and 200 levels do not get any shade thru all day
Written 28 June 2017
do they will sticky on the 12by 12 cooler bag .what if it is a 15 by 12
Written 5 June 2017
We have never had a problem with small soft sided cooler but if you are concerned contact the track and ask them...they are good at replying to email questions
Written 5 June 2017
how do the seat numbers run in the rows. How many seats to a row.
Written 5 February 2017
I don't recall the seat number sequence. Suggest you contact raceway staff, they are quite friendly. Just check website for contact information.
IMHO the upper rows have a better view than those close to the track.
Written 7 February 2017
How long is the typical race? I am coming to the race on Sunday and just trying to plan ahead. Thanks!
