The lake had a lot of Moss in it so made it hard to catch anything. Plus there was no picnic tables around boat dock #1 so people was having to sit on the ground. The manager said that they would not put any there because the are afraid that they would get thrown in the lake. All they have... More

Gifford Pinchot is a picturesque state park with large lake and hiking trails. The park is generally on level ground so the hiking is no strenuous. Good place to bring the family for a picnic or some basic camping.

We went in October for a 3 day trip. Rented a modern cabin. Cabins are close to the lake and you can see the lake from the deck. Off season this is a quiet place to unwind.

My family and friends have been visiting Pinchot Park now for the past 12 years. We camp there every Memorial Day weekend. We have had different tent sites, with our favorite being 120, 129 and 116. These sites are close to the lake, which is great if you have a kayak. Most of the camp sites are big enough and... More

We visited Sept 2016 in campground A ( site 134) for 4 nights in a pop-up and had a wonderful time. Site was spacious, well maintained, and clean. Yes, the bathrooms and showers were older and need replaced but everything worked and again they were clean but old and tired. It was quiet and peaceful in mid Sept. Beach looked... More

We expected crowded since it was Labor Day weekend. But add to this that the spaces are packed to the max, next to each other, it makes for a feeling that you are in a wooded parking lot. The reason must be that the park is essentially a small lake and its surroundings. We read reviews about the condition of... More

Pinchot is a great park for boating and kayaking. My husband and son love to leisurely float in their kayaks while tossing their fishing line it to see what's biting. There are multiple parking locations around the lake; each offer something different to do. Some take you to the beach for swimming...while others are closer to the hiking trails or... More

I'm not sure where the beach pictures came from but there is no beach. There is swimming in the lake but just a fence/ gate. No sand. See pictures. You can rent a boat but very inefficient, unhelpful staff and limited boats so unless you go early, don't expect to be able to rent a boat. As far as state... More

We live close to this park, about 20 minutes away. We went disc golfing here for the 1st time and had a FUN afternoon! Beautiful scenery and we enjoyed seeing a little of the lake while we "golfed". We completed most of the beginner course. Lots of fun for everyone, our four children, ages 16, 14, 8, 6 and our... More

this is a super clean, ultra friendly state park. All staff are very helpful and knowledgeable of the park. There is a huge lake stocked full of fish from sunnies & bluegills to catfish & Bass. All the camp sites are clean and spacious. They even have some right on the water's edge & hike in sites as well. The... More
