In 1954, the play, “Plain and Fancy” was a smash hit on Broadway. The Broadway hit drew a spotlight as the play was featured around the Amish lifestyle and their home: Lancaster County. This was the tipping point of a tourist boom the progressively grew from 25,000 annual visitors to 2,000,000 by 1960. Due to the increase of tourists and invasion of privacy of the Amish, Lancaster-local Adolph Neuber believe that there should be a place to accurately learn about the Amish, while respecting their privacy. An Amish family opened their home and property to visitors for tours. Since 1955, The Amish Farm and House has been connecting the Amish community and the public. Tour Lancaster County’s Amish Farm and House. Opened nearly 60 years ago, The Amish Farm and House has hosted travelers from around the world visiting Lancaster County. Experience Lancaster County’s Premier Amish Attraction with our farm and house tours.

Wow, how this area has grown up since our last visit at least 15 year ago. The shopping mail on both sides detract from the presentation, though there have been some additions in the rear where you may be able to still disconnect from the...More

It is surprising to see the commercial properties that have sprung up, but the benefit is that the Amish community frequent the shops as well! The truth is, we are an historic farm that dates back to 1715 so we were here long before the...More

As this was our first time visiting Lancaster, we thought it would be best to take a guided tour by small bus. Nice, knowledgeable bus driver! He showed all of the sights. Perfect length of time. Reasonably priced! Rest rooms at one of the stops.

This was our first visit to Pennsylvania and Lancaster county and we knew very little about the Amish and their traditions. The house tour and the bus tour were one of the most educational and enjoyable tours we have ever taken. The tour guides were...More

Great way to learn about the Amish without driving all over the place and bothering anyone. Easy to find they share a parking lot with Target. The guides were great and the house tour was very nice. Don't miss the other buildings on the farm.More

We are centrally and conveniently located. What was once all farmland is now a thriving shopping district. We have many Amish neighbors that enjoy the local shops and frequent them often. There's a good chance you can see them coming and going in their buggies...More

Thank you for your review and thoughtful comments. We have been providing tours since 1955 and some things sure do change, even the Amish! Yet some things remain the same. It is a unique privilege to be able to share our knowledge of the Amish...More

The location you are describing does not match our property nor does the cost or tour length. I believe you are mistaking us with another tour at a tourist attraction. We are an authentic farm that offers 40 minute guided tours of our historic farmhouse...More
