Good for a brief walk during the daytime when other people are nearby, but certain not safe after sunset. Don’t appear too much like a tourist, or you may encounter people asking for money.

If you are not going there to see the architecture which can be seen anywhere in old Pennsylvania, then I suggest a miss. We were very disappointed in the town itself. Quite frankly there was nothing worth making thd trip for.

Many old and small historic residences repurposed in the 1970's makes this 3-4 block area a gem for those who want to live in downtown Lancaster - and MANY do! It's beautiful to walk this area if you are touring historic Lancaster City. Their community...More

You must go to Lancaster. Not the Amish Lancaster with the buggies, but the actual town. Oldest city in US not on the coast. Fantastic architecture, beautiful old churches, graveyards, historical sites. Eclectic collection of cool restaurants, bakeries, art galleries, bookstores. Best donuts on earth...More
