A worthwhile day trip 75 miles from Philadelphia to watch waterfowl and numerous gorgeous ducks was well spent. Around 2 hours drive from University City. I would recommend leaving early and watch birds after parking your car anywhere close to lake, away from road. Keep eyes in the sky too for heron, vulture, eagle and hawk and obviously for those... We were here during the Presidents Day weekend so not only were the Snow Geese flocking to Middle Creek, but so were the bird watchers! Still the movement of 50,000 to 70,000 Snow Geese, Tundra Swans, ducks and related water fowl during an unusually warm and sunny February day made for an awesome experience.

We been having exceptional weather and visited yesterday. The visitors center and some access roads were open. The visitors center is great, with many displays and interactive stations. We went to see the annual migration of snow geese, tundra swans, Canadians, and a few odd ducks. Normally the visitors center is closed on Mondays and holidays and the access roads are... More

Middle Creek is a wonderful place to enjoy nature. Many people are attracted to the spectacle of the snow geese and swans. We saw deer in the fields at dusk. It is truly a wonder of nature to see thousands of these beautiful birds in the fields and on the lake. Be prepared because as the numbers of birds increase... More

The snow geese were early this year. The weather was beautiful and in the mid 60s (2/19/17) so we headed off to Middle Creek for our annual snow geese viewing. They did not disappoint! Saw them take flight 3 times. Early AM or Late PM is the best time to visit. I guess the weather and long weekend brought out... More

Unfortunately, we arrived after the museum had closed so I can't comment on that. I was told the best time to view the snow geese and tundra swans is dusk and dawn. We arrived at about 5:15pm. There was about 50,000 geese and 2,500 swans present . About 1/2 the geese were on the grassy hill between the lake and... More

I have wanted to visit for years to see the snow geese. Finally, took the time today to visit. Viewing the geese was breathtaking. It was so wonderful to watch gaggles take off and others land at the lake. It is possible to stop along the road and watch the geese. Also, walked to the end of Willow Point Trail.... More

We stopped (2/18/17) looking forward to something spectacular and unfortunately what we saw the most was people and cars, all over. There were swans in the lake but we did not witness a huge migration arriving or departing.

I often come to Middle Creek Wildlife just to get away from the rush of city life, to slow down and to observe creation. I love hiking the trails and have kayaked in the lake as well.

We visit Middlecreek at least two or three times a month. Excellent place to view different kinds of birds, deer, and turkeys. We have seen Eagles. There is a walk way out to a pavilion overlooking the lake. Winter time brings ice fishermen, sprin sand fall showcase migrating geese and birds!
