I am not a bird guy. I live local and check this out every other year or so just to see if there are any changes. There are not that many trails there, so I would not call it a great hiking place. Nice views,...More

I visited in early November walking along the trail to observe the countryside and try to see some raptors. In the brief two hours I was there I saw probably 15 - 16 different types of hawks. Their sanctuary center is a great place to...More

A great place to see hawks, eagles and vultures up close. There are many knowledgeable guides. Well marked trails lead to the best viewing sites. Best during the Spring and Fall migrations.

Visited strictly for Eagle Day and will definitely be returning to enjoy all the sanctuary has to offer. Beautiful scenery and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful.

Wow. What an awesome place. Scenery spectacular, knowlegable staff and views of landscape perfect. Trails are well marked and vary to suit all ages. Definitively worth a visit in the fall during the annual migration.

First time visiting. It was unusually warm and the warm air lifts the raptors higher, so we saw only a red tail and vultures. The guides were very helpful directing you where to look and binoculars also helpful. BUT this is a must do stop...More

Taking the mile plus semi rugged hike to North Point is usually worth the effort. Best to wait for a ‘not so good weather’ day and winds from the North or NW. Then the watching of hawks, eagles, and many large birds migrating is a...More

We had a delightful fall afternoon hike at Hawk Mt. We had not been in years. Not real busy. Hiked out to the overlooks and to see the Slide and Sunset viewpoint. Leaves were starting to change. First time we ever remember it not being...More

Will consider a return trip and ensure that the time frame is more within the migrating season of the hawks. Seen very few when we went

There are several lookouts, the easiest is the South Lookout, about 200 yards from the trail entrance. The next is the North Lookout (a moderate hike) which is the one to which I hiked and it took about 20 minutes. There is... More
