nice day trip

Nice trails from easy to challenging. Wear good shoes! Only saw one bird when we went and it seemed like a perfect day for bird watching. Well kept, peaceful place.

Stopped here today for the first time. Well maintained trails lead to great views of the Pennsylvania countryside. Great place for raptor watching . The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is the number of people. If you are looking to be alone, this is not the place.

What a treat to have such an outstanding outdoors recreation space in Eastern Pennsylvania! The trails are easy to use, well marked and offer very pleasing views of the area. Parking is a breeze, and volunteers and staff are eager to share their knowledge. You must go see this.

If you like birdwatching, and even if you don't, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is well worth the trip. The highlight is, of course, hawk migration season, but the Sanctuary also has hiking trails, a native plant garden, and a shop.

Hawk Mountain is right in my backyard & what a special place it is! A sanctuary for birds of prey that were once killed by the hundreds or thousands as sport. Now these majestic birds can soar free the way it was meant to be. Educational, fun, a beautiful place to hike with family & friends. Come and stay for... More

My fiance and I visited Hawk Mountain for the views and in hopes of seeing some of the birds in migration. This was my second visit and his first, however, my first visit was around 17 years ago when I was 7 so I don't remember much. We went on a Sunday and there were a LOT of families there.... More

We just went to Hawk Mountain in Oct. We seen a few birds on the look outs but not too many. But, even so, there was great views and nice trails to take a walk. Leaves are changing in Oct. so it's pretty when traveling at this time of year. Just make sure you wear good sneakers or hiking shoes.... More

Amazing to have this place so close to Philadelphia. It could be a day trip, but even better if you can stay overnight and explore the surrounding countryside and small towns.

Hawk mountain is bird sanctuary that is very much about education. It is a great family oriented place, and has great hiking and bird watching.
