Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Been visiting Willombi for years and this vineyard is only a short drive from the tavern
Cellar door was a fantastic atmosphere with a talk about the winemaking on the vineyard
One of the best I have been to

Had a wonderful weekend in this little piece of history. We loved our stay because we were not searching for ultra modern conveniences and are not phased by the bits of quirkiness than come with a property like this but if one is picky about those things, they might restrain from making a booking. For history lovers, wine lovers and quirky accepters, you will love staying in the cottage and stopping by the cellar door to share a chat with Peter and try his wines. Being dog friendly with a large space is super useful as well as you can easily organise your trip around this. Thanks Peter and Jane!

Highly recommend this boutique cellar door for friendly old fashioned conversation and service. Beautifully labelled and bottled wines. We loved the Sparkling Shiraz and will continue to visit for this one alone ! If you are wanting to get away from the large highly commercialised cellar doors we would recommend Undercliff Winery.

To stay in a cottage built 173 years ago is very special indeed! Total privacy with a beautiful outlook. Peter is so amiable! Enjoyed our wine tastings every evening on our return from the day's outing. Wollombi village is gorgeous! Thank you Jane and Peter for a lovely stay!

We visited here whilst on a wine tour of the Hunter Valley with Gourmet Getaway Tours. We met the owner and winemaker Peter, who was very accommodating in explaining the wine making process and in particular how he makes his sparkling wines. These are made in the traditional method, and we thought his sparkling wines were amongst the best we have tried. Overall a good wine tasting to start off the day.

Lovely boutique winery. Owned by a lovely couple. Situated on a typical Wollombi property (heavenly bush paradise). Topping it off are delicious wines!

Lovely cellar door... loved their sparkling shiraz!! Very eclectic set up... lovely grounds for a picnic too. We visited due to the sculptures in the vines.... which there was a lot of at Undercliff Winery. Well worth the visit if your in the area next year!!

We were here in autumn and the trees were spectacular. We wound our way up the drive to be greeted by the owner who was in the middle of morning tea, but was pleased to conduct a wine tasting and give us background on how he came to be doing what he is.
I don't know if it was the beautiful surroundings, the good wine or the great character of our host, probably all three because we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. There was no hurry and no sales push, although we did leave with several bottles. Great place to go and they have accommodation on site too.

Stopped here as a start to our wine route for the day - down a dirt road and can only see the sign if you come from Wollombi otherwise you miss it. Artwork and wines in the lovely old shed, small variety for tasting.
