Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To stay in a cottage built 173 years ago is very special indeed! Total privacy with a beautiful outlook. Peter is so amiable! Enjoyed our wine tastings every evening on our return from the day's outing. Wollombi village is gorgeous! Thank you Jane and Peter for a lovely stay!

There is a big difference between rustic and run down/grubby!
Pots and pans in kitchen were either worn out with mismatched lids or had built up grime from previous peoples stays. I had to wash them Before I used them. Microwave and oven were dirty with grill still having foil used by previous people. Fan in oven does not work so a meal that should take 1 1/2 hrs took 2 1/2 hrs! Cutting knives would not have even go through a potato so I used my pocket knife to cut up our roast lamb which was soft and tender. Their "breakfast hamper" only consisted of eggs, stuck together bacon and frozen bread! No steak knives were provided so eating meat was a chore.
Furniture run down with cushions lumpy or flat, tables rickety and when I pulled out a stool the leg fell off!
Hot water system went cold when pressure pump kicked which would be easily fixed with a circular system, so we dared not have a shower!
Main bed was springy and rather old.
Firewood was not split enough so I had to split it, after an axe was provided by helpful caretaker Caroline, who was the only saving grace of our stay, she also provided our wine tasting, lovely lady. Wines whilst nice are expensive
Gardens could do with a little tlc too and could not have a picnic on grass as it is infested with bindies.
I would not recommend this stay to friends or family and won't be back.
DVD player did not work and TV was only analogue so we played monopoly but even this game only had one di. With all the competition for stays in this area, you would think the owners put in a little more effort and care

A really gorgeous place to visit or stay, wonderful wines and great hospitality. The property is dotted with some lovely sculptures and its a super spot for a wine inspired picnic. Great location and very good value.

We were here in autumn and the trees were spectacular. We wound our way up the drive to be greeted by the owner who was in the middle of morning tea, but was pleased to conduct a wine tasting and give us background on how he came to be doing what he is.
I don't know if it was the beautiful surroundings, the good wine or the great character of our host, probably all three because we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. There was no hurry and no sales push, although we did leave with several bottles. Great place to go and they have accommodation on site too.

Been visiting Willombi for years and this vineyard is only a short drive from the tavern
Cellar door was a fantastic atmosphere with a talk about the winemaking on the vineyard
One of the best I have been to

Lovely boutique winery. Owned by a lovely couple. Situated on a typical Wollombi property (heavenly bush paradise). Topping it off are delicious wines!

Lovely cellar door... loved their sparkling shiraz!! Very eclectic set up... lovely grounds for a picnic too. We visited due to the sculptures in the vines.... which there was a lot of at Undercliff Winery. Well worth the visit if your in the area next year!!

Stopped here as a start to our wine route for the day - down a dirt road and can only see the sign if you come from Wollombi otherwise you miss it. Artwork and wines in the lovely old shed, small variety for tasting.

Lovely estate and the owner Peter is an informative and friendly man.
The Shiraz/chambourcin blend is the best wine I have ever tasted in my life I really suggest everyone try this wine.
