Great place for tourist & children

A step back in time to the early settlement of the area , the place is a little run down & a bit expensive , but it's an important part of reliving the early days of Australia... read more

We've visited at least 15 times, and each time we say we probably won't go back next time, but we always do. The kids love it (10 & 6) and look forward to it every time we come north for a holiday. The people who work here are dedicated and passionate about their field. They are full of information and... More

I went here with my partner and I absolutely loved it, the steam train was awesome I felt like a little kid again, the history about the place was fascinating, the bullock show and trainer was great and the black Smith there was also great! Made a leaf out of metal!

My husband and I took my 16 year old daughter, we thought it would be fun but no, not really, perhaps because we had been to Sovereign Hill in Ballarat it spoiled all other pioneer type places but this just didn't cut the mustard. The train, miniature train and some other ride are so far apart you have to stay... More

Hello, thank you for visiting and your feedback.we do operate two programs and being out of holidays the day of your visit was certainly back to our quieter period after school holidays. We come from western NSW so our children get to go back to school a week later than our east coast friends so seeing as most kids were back at school this week we decided to go to Timbertown and our kids had an amazing time. The Steam train ride was amazing as you wind through the trees. The Bullock... More

A great place to take the family to see what life was like in the past. With people singing in the streets, riding Penny Farthings, driving wagons, Bullock teams and you can give whip cracking a try. My family really enjoyed the activities. They have a restaurant on site that serves a variety of good tasting food at reasonable prices.... More

We visited Timbertown on a very wet day and it still was very enjoyable. The demonstrations were done with enthusiasm by everyone involved and were very enjoyable. Ai believe it has new owners and it was certainly more 'alive' than when we visited Seven years ago. They have injected new life into the place. Really worth a visit and be... More

Thank you for visiting and posting feedback, we hope one day you can visit again and see more progress. We all do our very best as a regional living museum without any external government funding and therefore take sustainability very seriously. We always run two programs one during NSW school holidays and one outside of these periods both reflect the... More

I've been visiting Timbertown for decades and have always enjoyed taking my family there. Earlier this week I stopped by with my father and young daughter to enjoy a ride on the train in the afternoon. We were informed at the entrance we would have to pay the full entrance fee of approx $70 for the three of us even... More

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We pride ourselves on providing accuracy when our visitors arrive. Our receptionist does remember you and did suggest a visit the next day when you may receive better value for money. On arrival you still had the Steam train journey ,horse and carriage trip and mini railway rides operating. Arriving one hour before we... More
