Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the 3rd boardwalk along the Bellinger and Karang river confluence entry into the ocean. This boardwalk was built in 1988 and would be some 2 KM long out to the ocean beach. Rugged rock breakwater lines the edges to the sea next to the boardwalk. Ever changing views of river, rocks, sand and pounding sea make this a worthwhile walk. The mangrove walk section has fallen in and is roped off at this time March 2020.

It is always good to 'follow your nose' sometimes and take note of local signposts. We found the Urunga boardwalk this way. Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse whilst we were halfway along and we had to wait out the rain, but the sun came out again and we got to the end, climbed down on to the beach and had a good look around. The wetlands did not give up too much, I blame the rain, but it was an interesting stop over on our way south. Access was good, wheelchair friendly, and children would love it, if supervised well - lots of opportunities to scramble over rocks, picnic area etc.

Gorgeous place. Sealed walking track all the way. Only 600 metres. Lovely native vegetation, some planted some natural along the walk. Board walk not very long but give a good view of the wetlands. Not many birds when I was there, black ducks and grebes we bobbing around. So peaceful and pretty. A must do and wheel chair friendly. Dog can visit on a leash.

Fantastic effort in reclaiming an antimony processing plant which was left to poison the local area. Works undertaken to carefully seal away the poisonous material and remove the industrial plant have left a beautiful area for people to enjoy. There is a boardwalk made up of recycled plastic waste (2million+plastic bags) for close access to birdlife with the boardwalk also accessible to wheelchairs.
Really beautiful place where you can easily spend hours

Free and simply incredible. Bring your water bottle, camera and good walking shoes, but also accessible for wheelchairs/walkers. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the water birds and flora. So very beautiful! On a hot day, there is shade. Take our time. Wear a hat!

The restoration of this former mineral extraction dumping ground / tailings dam makes my heart sing! Its got to be seen to be believed . From a former toxic waste land, the state and local governments along with businesses, have restored this are to an environment luxuriant with fish & birds of extensive varieties. The bridge is made from recycled plastic bags- inspirations!!!

This is just a short walk off the main boardwalk, very cool, relaxing, plenty of little crabs, birds. At the end are a couple of seats where you can just chill out, watching the fishermen in their little tinnies, or just sit and take it all in, nice place, a glass of red would go down well there as well. Enjoy.

This attraction appeared after the State cleaned up a former antimony processing site.
The outcome is amazing. Connecting to existing wetlands, the sights are serene and bucolic. Bring your binoculars and watch the water birds and raptors.
