Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stop up top first at Chamberlain Lookout to get an overview of the area, then drop down to the Bay for a swim, fishing, picnic area & boat ramp. You need to be pretty brave to launch your runabout from here! On our visit a fairly strong swell was running with large sets crashing on the rocks guarding the Bay. A school group was going snorkeling & loving it.

Stopped by Kianinny Bay while in Tathra. This is a pleasant spot to swim or launch your boat, or have a picnic. There is a large area for fishermen to also clean their catch with the left overs being picked up by a variety of birds and sea life, including large stingrays. There must have been about 6 stingrays. Some of who came right up to the edge to grab a fish head and allow people to stoke them.

On an incredibly windy day, Kianinny Bay was a major win. Super protected and great for kids. Lots of beautiful little coves to explore and a nice opportunity to observe massive stingrays.

Chamberlain Lookout and Kianinny Boat Ramp. You must see if you come to Tathra. From the Chamberlain Lookout, you can see the great scenery and the Boat Ramp, the seawater is crystal clear likes jade. There is a playground for kids, BBQ, and walk path for hiking.

Took the kids for their first ever snorkeling adventure. Was perfectly safe and the kids had an amazing time looking at the various fish as well as a few stingrays. Worth a visit if in the area.

Having recently moved to the Tathra area and I wanted to explore. I walked here and found this beautiful little bay. Its a rocky inlet with a tiny beach and ramp for small boats. I went there around 3pm and saw lots of Sting Rays swimming around. People were snorkling. Crystal clear water. Suitable for fishing and plenty of parking.

Was told to go to the boat ramp for a swim. Didn't know what to expect. Discovered a beautiful place for a swim only to discover that you have to be wary of the stingrays. The water was so buoyant just floated around. A great experience.

It has a cover area or BBQ, grass area with table and chairs, shallow calm waters on one side and deep waters on the other side. I found the water a bit dirty due to black leaves from the surrounding trees. You can even fish near the wharf where the boat ramp is. Good for families with young children (safer than the open beach)
