Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped by Kianinny Bay while in Tathra. This is a pleasant spot to swim or launch your boat, or have a picnic. There is a large area for fishermen to also clean their catch with the left overs being picked up by a variety of birds and sea life, including large stingrays. There must have been about 6 stingrays. Some of who came right up to the edge to grab a fish head and allow people to stoke them.

Stop up top first at Chamberlain Lookout to get an overview of the area, then drop down to the Bay for a swim, fishing, picnic area & boat ramp. You need to be pretty brave to launch your runabout from here! On our visit a fairly strong swell was running with large sets crashing on the rocks guarding the Bay. A school group was going snorkeling & loving it.

Chamberlain Lookout and Kianinny Boat Ramp. You must see if you come to Tathra. From the Chamberlain Lookout, you can see the great scenery and the Boat Ramp, the seawater is crystal clear likes jade. There is a playground for kids, BBQ, and walk path for hiking.

a breathtaking place, great for picnics, fishing, snorkeling and our little groups were fortunate enough to see two beautiful large stingrays frolicking around. It is always a must go to place when in Tathra.

On an incredibly windy day, Kianinny Bay was a major win. Super protected and great for kids. Lots of beautiful little coves to explore and a nice opportunity to observe massive stingrays.

The views from the top are superb any time of day and year - migrating humpback whales often pass right along the coastline - you can hear and smell them. Brilliant peaceful place for a picnic or just some daydream time.

Weather was very windy when we went but the Bay was quite sheltered, which was good. Great BBQ facilities and toilets. Good to walk around but couldn’t let small children go unsupervised.
