Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really nice to see the wharf restored and even nicer to visit the museum. It's small and nothing flash but it is worth a look. The displays are really interesting and the staff were so friendly and only too happy to chat.

There is nothing better then sitting at the Wharf on a sunny day. Great coffee. Great views and always plenty of people to talk to.

A really lovely little museum of Tathra which gives you some fascinating glimpses of local life, now and in the past. The swish of the ocean under your feet is an atmospheric backing track to tales of shipwrecks, steam lines, farming and aboriginal rites. Wonderful stuff, and only $2 for entry! The attached cafe is very groovy and glamorous, with delicious coffee, cakes, sandwiches and artworks available ... but not cheap: $17 for a veggie roll, $35 for a length of rope, $50 and up for some of the ugliest ceramics I've ever seen. But still worth a visit, if only to see the cow portraits!

This whart has been well preserved, and obviously is very appreciated by the locals. Coffee and amenities can also be found. Parking is a bit limited.

Tathra Wharf is the last surviving open sea timber wharf left on the east coast. Built in 1862 and active till 1954 it served the coastal shipping industry for close to 100 years but has been so well built & updated it survives to today & onwards. Didn't see any Museum, maybe closed ?Has a nice looking cafe at ground level and fish cleaning area for the lucky fishos ! Worth a quick look and admire.
