Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As a few other reviewers pointed out, the last stretch up to the Falls is unsealed road. My car also had to cross the causeway which the post by Narelle B below had a picture of. Past that point my car eventually got to an area with a fence where there was a "Do not enter" sign. A few cars were parked at that area - it was in the middle of the road still going up to the Falls, not a car park, but the only spot along the road going up that was wide enough to turnaround. Up to that point there was no car park that other reviewers mentioned. That's where I turned around and stopped going further, as I didn't feel comfortable getting out of the car on my own (solo female) to walk whatever distance may be still left to walk. Disappointed not having seen the Falls.

Stunningly beautiful falls and valley views and easy day trip from Sydney. Parking and toilets near the lookouts. Easy day trip from Sydneyq . Traveled via Albion Park to Macqurie pass and went home via Moss Vale for a round trip including a drink at the Burrawang pub.

We came here knowing that the secret trail to reach the actual falls at the bottom involved off track hiking. Many websites provided little direction, but we knew we were supposed to jump a fence at the Hindmarsh lookout and there should be a worn in pathway with steps that leads to the base of the falls. After jumping the wrong fence twice (we walked behind the end of the fence which lead us to a cliff face and is not the correct path!) we kept walking along the fence until we noticed a clearing and what looked to be a repaired portion of the fence (picture from website we used attached). We jumped it realising there was a clear pathway down with steps. It should be clear cut. If it isn't- you've taken the wrong path! The hike takes about half an hr, but be careful because it may be slippery, especially if it rained the night before. Finding the right fence to jump was the hardest part- other than that- the falls is truly magical and definitely worth the trek. It felt like something from Jurassic Park. Don't forget to bring your swimmers!

The Belmore falls are stunning falls in a quiet arm of bush escarpments. They are an easy short walk from the central car park, accessed by a reasonable dirt road. 4wd SUV or similar vehicles are recommended, but not essential. No parking fees or amenities.

I visited these falls on a day trip from Sydney. Very easy to access from Bowral or Mittagong with nice winding country roads. Car access to the lookout is ok, with a short stretch of unsealed road at the last stretch. It should still be ok for 2WD with the exception of wet weather.
The lookout gives a good view of the falls, and the accompanying walking track shows off the beauty of the Southern Highlands.
Incorporate this stop with a visit to Carrington (currently closed, check National Parks site for details) and Fitzroy Falls to complete the set of Southern Highlands waterfalls.

This is worth the dirt road drive one must undertake to get there. A small walk needs to be done to view the falls. The gorge is beautiful too.

Unsealed road leads through eucalypt forest not far out of Robertson. Falls and valley are breathtaking and you can even swim in the waterhole.

Belmore Falls is beautiful on a nice day you can take a picnic and do lots of walking. Its quiet and serene. It is not far from Robertson. It has good parking facilities too. They have closed a few of the walks to the pools, but there is still plenty to see.

Nice spot and lookouts, however it is so disappointing that they closed the walk to the bottom and middle pool! Just another example of softening up Australian tourism! Everything is controlled by board walks and fences and you are not allowed to do anything adventurous. If you want some adventure, go to Northern Australia. Seems like NSW has lost it!
PS: People on here really shouldn't publicly write about and review the bottom walk, as it is an illegal and unmaintained walk. By encouraging others to do it, you are placing them in serious danger. You don't know what their capabilities are plus they could be fined if they get busted. Do it at your own discretion if you need to, but don't post it publicly!

Last minute question, but would you say these walks are ok with a baby in a baby carrier? I'm not a hiker, but no problems with reasonable walks. I'm used to carrying him and will share the load with my wife if need be (but suspect it won't be that hard or long).

The walk is a short walk to the view point.

In order to access the Belmore Falls walking track do I need to up the dirt road to Hindmarsh lookout? I will have a campervan and won't be able to use dirt roads. How long of a walk is it instead of using the dirt road?
Written 19 November 2016
Thank you for your reply. So park the van then look for a dirt road leading up or down? I think we'd like to go to a high lookout point, how do we go about doing that?
