Nice beach, clothing optional, a top spot to enjoy the beach ...naturally !

Good beach to visit but you will need a 4WD to avoid a long walk from the main road. No facilities whatsoever so necessary to take sunshade, food, water, sunscreen etc for a day's... read more

Though the beach is fantastic, its the amount of people wandering nude, very embarrassing going with a family with little kids.

Beautiful beach with 4wd entry. Saw 2 cars bogged. Drop your tyre pressure to 16-18 and take care. Very soft sand when we visited but lovely beach. Nudists around but big beach to enjoy your own space.

Good beach to visit but you will need a 4WD to avoid a long walk from the main road. No facilities whatsoever so necessary to take sunshade, food, water, sunscreen etc for a day's outing. Don't believe all the stories about 'dirty old men' and 'perverts inhabiting the sandhills'. Its blown out of proportion - have never had a problem... More

We are not sure why some people complain about either the nudity at the beach or the 4WD. Sorry, but the beach is like 3km long. And everyone should find a spot to feel like almost alone. We headed to the south end although we do not see each other as perverted old men as people stated in their reviews.... More

Don't try to access the beach if you don't have a four wheel drive car. It is a clothing optional beach. Hence access today is secluded as expected. The 4WD warning is not displayed at the entrance. Hence if you enter with a regular car then definitely you will be in problem. And if you walk then be ready to... More

This is a clothing optional (nudist) and 4wd beach. I walked here from my accommodation at Treescape hoping to go for a dip, only to find that I was uncomfortable and out of place. On the Monday and Tuesday I found that there were only naked older men about (no women), and about a dozen 4wds. By Friday there were... More

This is one of the best places to go in Port Stephens. You can still take your car on to the beach and the sand hills. This beach so far has escaped the over regulation that is so common in the area. I would recommend getting down there with your car an enjoying it before the nanny state blocks you.

We are local naturalists on Samurai and always enjoy the peaceful serenity when we head out for the weekends. Clothing optional it is however "textiles" aka clothed people you have plenty of other beaches to admire so please feel free to go there as perving is highly undesired. Northern end is mostly for naturalists couples and families whilst south is... More

My girlfriend and I travel to many 4wd beach camping spots far and wide and found samurai beach to be Quite stunning , its quite a small beach as far as 4wding beaches , it seems very popular with surfers , and the shallow sandbar also made it popular with families with kids , the two days we were there...
