Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Panboola Wetlands. Each Saturday morning, the area hosts a friendly and welcoming parkrun event. They have done a fantastic job in reclaiming the old racecourse to support this activity. The area is rich in wildlife with kangaroos and many bird species in abundance.

Far too brief a stay here but what we saw was impressive. The story of how it came to be is remarkable.

We rode from merimbula to Panboola - lovely flat and safe cycle along the airstrip, golf course, oyster tasting. Panboola with the kangaroos (loafs of them!) was great particularly around the old racetrack. Finished up at one of the cafes in Pambula - lovely way to spend 2-3hrs with the kids

We stumbled on this while geocaching nearby! We had a nice wander around. The place was quite lush, perhaps even overgrown in places! The grassy paths were well mown. The information sheet helped with navigation. Keep on improving this nice site! YMMV

Great insight into “old Pambula”. A town centre built on a floodplain gave way to a racetrack and is now a great wetlands walk. Totally flat and excellent for kids as well.

It’s not the most riveting nature walk but it’s OK. It’s flat and has no major obstacles.
It takes about an hour to complete and is cycle friendly.

There’s limited car parking and no public amenities. My granddaughter was able to scoot around the course. Photo opportunities were limited.

It’s pleasant but I won’t be rushing back.

It was a lovely day for a walk , the bird life was fabulous and walked around the wetlands and then until the old race course. Flat for people with disabilities and the young or old. Sitting on the way and also take a picnic lunch and make a day of it , or your paints/ sketchbook.

Not much to see here but it is a nice walk around the grounds. No water or facilities available. Have done the walk a couple of times and the wetlands are improving but need a lot of work to be special. Didn’t see many birds or varieties of birds but did spot the odd Kangaroo.

We stopped here for morning tea on a birding trip. The area is very well-maintained and is signposted with information about the flora, fauna and history of the area. There is a grassy bird sanctuary area as well as walking paths beside the wetlands and it was being well-used by local exercisers. A very pleasant place to pause and wander. Well done to the volunteers who keep it so well. Perhaps an indication of whether visitors can drive in or should park at the entrance might be useful.
