Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Highly recommend the guided 3-day Light to Light walk which is fully catered for, so all you have to carry is a day pack. We shared the experience with 2 friends and chose to stay at the Green Cape Lighthouse cottages. Perfect location to watch the sunrise and sunset. (We enjoyed delicious local produce including wine, beer, cheeses & fresh local oysters). The bonus was we saw many whales, seals & bird life.
We had a private tour of the lighthouse with Greg, a resource of knowledge, on the history of the Cape.
The whole package was an enjoyable experience with the company of Cam and Jason - both extremely knowledgeable. Cam prepared the amazing dishes and Tess provided morning teas - all home cooked.
Jason was our guide and was very accommodating to the group's input allowing plenty of time to enjoy the walks with interesting points shared, photo time, viewing of more whales and time to enjoy the hidden focal points along the way. Watching out for wildlife along the way and we were so lucky to see 4 duck orchids. Fabulous find by Jason. Beds were comfortable, plenty of time to use shared bathrooms. The other 6 people on the tour were like minded and we all had a great fun time and enjoyable evenings at dinner. Communication and organisation was excellent.

This guided tour was beyond my expectation. 3 days of walking was easy with stops along the way and such a variety of terrain. Incredible views and Jason, our guide, was a fountain of knowledge with so many interesting stories and history told. Our Lighthouse Keepers cottage was very comfortable with the most amazing views. We timed it perfectly to see whales, seals and migrating birds from our verandah. Cam and Tess went above and beyond with catering, giving us a sampling of local produce and wines. It really was delicious food and they should be congratulated with catering for my special dietary requirement.
If you are thinking of doing this iconic walk, I highly recommend Sapphire Coast Guiding Co. They really are simply the best!!!
Thanks Cam, Tess and Jason

Sapphire Coast Guiding Co. Excellent. Cam, Tess & Jason. Thankyou.
The Wharf to Wharf plus a day in Mimosa Rocks National Park and The Light to Light Walk. 6 days of walking and being accommodated, transported, guided and catered for by this company.
The walks were very scenic and terrain as describe but Sapphire Coast Guiding were exceptional, the attention to details, their knowledge the accommodation and meals were first class. Do yourself a favour and book. No regrets. Annette. L

I did the Light to Light walk in March 2023, staying at the Green Cape Lighthouse cottages. The accommodation and food were excellent. Jason was our guide and he did a good job of explaining things and assisting those who needed it. Greg from NSW NPWS took us on a tour of the original lighthouse. Tess and Cam who run the Sapphire Coast Guiding Co provided excellent hospitality. At this stage of my life I enjoyed the comfort of carrying only a daypack, home cooked meals and a comfortable bed for the 2 nights we stayed in the cottages.

Having completed this walk a few times over the past 30 years, it is still a very popular and well known area to those across Australia. I tried a guided tour assuming the price would guarantee an experience I could not attain myself. I was left slightly dissapointed. I felt as though I paid an extra 700 dollars for food and somebody to pitch my tent. I think if the region is to endorse expanding eco tourism, more competition is needed to ensure people and the environment are not exploited based on someones need to feel as though they must spend exessive money to enjoy a public natural asset that belongs to everybody.

I booked this hike as a surprise Christmas present for my husband and it was everything I'd hoped it would be... and more. Our hosts, Cam & Tess, ensured everyone in the group had a great time.
It was fabulous to carry only our day packs and our accommodation in one of the old Keepers' cottages at Green Cape Lighthouse was brilliant - hot showers, comfy beds and pillows and fabulous meals prepared by Tess using local produce.
The scenery was spectacular and it was wonderful to see the National Park recovering well after the recent bushfires. The contrast of the blackened tree trunks with the lush green undergrowth only added to its beauty. Swimming in the pristine waters at Saltwater Creek and Bittangabee Bay at the end of each day's hike was simply superb.
It really is a beautiful and untouched part of Australia and we loved every minute of it.

My friend and I did the 2-day self-guided Wharf to Wharf walk in February 2022 with Sapphire Coast Guiding Co. Tess and Cam provided excellent support for the walk, including transfers to/from our hotel and the start/finish of the walk and good quality packed lunches each day. We particularly appreciated the safety features they included such as the sat phone, personal locator beacon and the first aid kit. We knew we could contact them at any point (though fortunately we didn’t have to!). It was wonderful to arrive at the campsite to find the tent and beds already set up, hot showers, cups of tea ready to go and dinner prepared for us. The dessert was particularly first class! It was all up a very comfortable camping experience.
The Wharf to Wharf walk itself is definitely moderate grading, with long stretches of walking on soft sandy beaches on the first day and many rocky tracks up and down headlands and bays on the second day. It’s a good way to see a very pretty part of the south coast.

We have done a lot of guided walks and this would be one of the best. Beautiful coastline, heathlands, beaches and easy creek crossings. Our guide, Jason , looked after us well and Cam ensured everything ran smoothly. The accommodation at the lighthouse cottage was very clean and comfortable and the food that this tour group provided was excellent. We lost count of whales breaching and having fun. The shearwaters were migrating as well, a constant stream off the coast.
