The 27 hole championship golf course by the sea, in a natural setting with native trees, flora, wildlife and birds. Nelson Bay Golf Club is a members club which is open every day to the thousands of visitors to Port Stephens each year. Visiting golfers, whether individuals or groups, are welcome 7 days a week. The 27 hole layout, ranked in the top 50 courses in Australia for rounds costing under $50, offers great value and an enjoyable experience to golfers of all levels. Located in the heart of Nelson Bay just walking distance from the CBD, it is the ideal destination for your next short break, family holiday, corporate golf day or extended golfing holidays. The Club has undertaken a $10 million project of rebuilding the Clubhouse. It includes a function centre with its own dedicated bar and entrance, main bar, sports bar, indoor/outdoor gaming facilities, cafe/lounge area, Bluewater Grill Restaurant, children's room all with stunning 180 degree views of the course and headlands.

Course was great however 5 hours for around dress code thongs and T shirts are ok get drunk if you want. At one stage we had 8 people playing on a hole in 4 cars oh yes take the bunkers and fill the divots if you want. Advice to all do not play at this course

Visited the golf course for the Kangaroo Tour- it was excellent. Dave, our guide, was very informative and we got up close to the kangaroos and even saw and heard a kookaburra. The golf cart was large and comfortable and we saw the course and the nature - outstanding and beautiful

Disappointing no salad dressing on my friends meal Quiche was lovely though. My Meal Prawn and asian salad with noodles. Was very small serving and noodles not existent. I did make a friendly complaint and I was brought out a tiny little ramican of what looked like cut up prawn chips.Last comment not happy.

Pro Shop should warn you about the state of the back 9. Pay full price and the fairways have been cored and there is mud everywhere and the ball doesn't run. Areas dug up in front of greens. After complaining after our game we were told that preferred lies were the way to go, but on the 12th there was no relief anywhere. Either warn people and offer discounted rates or give it a miss if you want 18 holes. Grass sparse on other areas of fairways.

We had a great time seeing Kangaroo’s on the tour at the golf club. Our guide Keith was lovely to chat to and very knowledgeable, he really made an effort to answer all of our questions and we were so grateful to the volunteers that make this tour happen!

Went for dinner with my family here while we there in the area for the weekend. Probably a good idea to book during busy times. The staff were friendly enough though the night we were there it was packed so staff were super busy.
The food choices were good, something for everyone but a little pricier than other places we have been to especially for the serving size. Food was nice enough though. Not a bad place for dinner but nothing to rave about either.
The bistro part where meals were felt very packed and squashed and was very loud.
There was a indoor playground in the eating area for young children and live music in the area next door.

My family and I enjoyed two nights ago a meal that was simply superb!
The quality of the food was amazing, the food arrived promptly, and the staff were very friendly, professional and accommodating. I have been a constant visitor to Nelson Bay for 35 years and that was the best meal up here I have ever had!
I made a point of finding out who was in charge of the Restaurant that night. It was a lovely lady called Tanya. Well, full credit to you Tanya and your great staff- well done and can't wait to come back.

Sorry but wasn’t impressed with this place. We had a three day stay in Nelson bay. Ate at several clubs and this one was disappointing. Advertising restaurant closed at 8. Arrived at 7.-.15 and advised we need to order immediately as the kitchen was closing. Should have left then The meal was just average for the price. Sorry guys very disappointing. Bar staff grumpy. But the reception staff and waitresses were lovely.

We had a large group visiting Nelson Bay. This included a round of golf (a great course) and a dinner at the Golf Club. The food was so good at the golf club's 'Bluewater Grill' that we ended up eating there on 3 nights! The club itself is first class and the staff really friendly. Our group is going back next year and we'll be basing ourselves again at the Golf Club - and likely give the food another workout!

Had a lovely time at a 70th birthday event today. The waitress was friendly and quick. The food was 1st class and delicious. Nothing was a trouble. Lovely and clean function room .
