Great way to experience the beautiful Myall River and an extra bonus if you see the local pods of dolphins. Comfortable ride the old fashion way, great vibes and tunes.

Great day out on Port Stephens, with Port Stephens Ferry Service. We caught the 10.00 am ferry from Tea Gardens across to Nelson Bay. It was a relaxing trip, and a great way to explore the Myall River on a quaint historic vessel with super friendly staff. Once in Nelson Bay we walked up to The Inner Light Tearooms, about a 30 minute coastal walk, where we had lunch. Food there is well priced and the headland views exceptional. Afterwards we walked back to town where we had time to browse the shops before returning to Tea Gardens on the 3.30pm ferry. We saw a number of dolphins very close to the boat on the return journey, and the skipper obligingly slowed down so we could get a good look at them. I'd recommend this as a great day out, and a break from sun and sand.

Such a relaxed way to spend some time on the water. This is the second time I've done this trip across to Tea Gardens and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. It is lovely seeing people out having fun and the variety of sea birds. Be sure to take your own water or drink, esp on hot days. I'd recommend checking out the lunch option before you arrive and make sure to allow enough time for a restaurant - if that's your preference. We got burgers from the bakery, which were lovely, but even they were fairly slow to arrive. There isn't a lot on offer (besides dining) in Tea Gardens but it's a lovely place to have a little stroll.

It was raining during the night and overcast this morning so we decided to take the ferry to Tea Gardens and what a great day it turned out to be, the ferryman was the entertainment on the way telling us the history of the area, also we saw dolphins on the way. I would totally recommend this day trip to anyone.

Ferry ride to Tea Gardens/Hawks nest. Enjoyable 1hr trip across the bay and into the Myall River, stopping outside the Tea Gardens Hotel. Great lunchand drinks. Didn't walk over to Hawks nest this time, returning next month. $26 return is great value for a day at Tea Gardens
