The longest operating charter business in Narooma with the most experienced local crew and the largest and safest vessels.We conduct tours to Montague Island,Penguin Tours (in season), Whale Watching(in season), Diving and Snorkelling with the Seals and fishing Charters. Our vessels are in the highest safety category of 1c which is classified passenger ferry class. We have been operating since 1983 and are the only company conducting tours to Montague Island since 1991.

Been fishing off Narooma since 1970. Had the opportunity in November to have 2 days in Narooma with my (40 year old +) kids, my teenage grandkids and some very dear friends. Went to Montague Island with Narooma Charters and felt very comfortable with the safety and experience shown by the crew. They were also very informative about the marine life and they later put us in the very best location(s) to dive with the seals. We all also just enjoyed the magnificent views of the island and the coastline.
Most memorable day for our family and friends. Thanks Narooma Charters.

Was told by our accommodation hosts to check out Narooma Charters at the fishing shop.
Arrived the day before to book with the bloke behind the counter - we should have seen the warning signs with the lack of customer service. Asked if we could go on the next days morning or afternoon tour, and if it was generally a better experience in the morning or afternoon tour. Answer was "I cant tell you that, you decide"
Are the seals more active in the morning or afternoon? "Depends"
Alas, we booked in the morning tour as we wanted to spend the afternoon on the beach. All good and dandy we thought.
The morning of the tour, as we turned up at the boat at 7:40am, we were informed that the morning tour was cancelled...."because the island was closed this morning"
We could not be moved to the afternoon tour due to National Park regulations (I understand this bit, if its the law, fair enough)
However, the island WAS open for the morning. Other operators were leaving to head out! We even spoke with some of the other captains to confirm this.
Seems like Narooma Charters chose not to operate due to low numbers instead.
A little bit of a heads up when we were booking would have been good.

There's no doubt that for the natural sights such as whales and snorkelling with seals this tour is amazing. Although, the costumer service is below average. It's a bit silly to provide short 3 mm wetsuits in the middle of winter. The water is about 16° making a long 5 mm wetsuit necessary. Above that, all the snorkel gear had either mould or was broken and wasn't sanitized at all. We had about 30 people on the boat.

Amazing trip from start to finish! From booking w Renee, at sea w Captain Norm and Leighton and on Montague Island w Walther. We had such a fun, exciting, informative trip, wonderful to see the seals and whales. Will definitely go again and would highly recommend. Thank you all!!!!

Highly recommend this company.We had a fabulous time scuba diving and touring Montegue Island.

Booked a morning snorkelling and seal tour for the 25th February 2023 with the company in October 2022.
Arrived in Narooma on the 23/2/23, we walked into, by coincidence, to their dive shop and was told by the man behind the counter that he was going to ring us on the 24th and cancel as we were the only ones. We were very disappointed mainly for the late notice after all it was booked over 3 months ago, he did offer another trip which was in the afternoon on the 25th, but as we pointed out the wind was very strong and it would not be very comfortable, he agreed and left it at that. Fortunately we happened to walk over to the tourist info centre and they managed to get us on the morning tour with Montague Island Adventures which was amazing and a wonderful group to go with also included a swim with the seals. Interesting who should be at the seal place, but Narooma Charters with a boat os snorklers doing the 4 hour snorkel trip and not the Island. Hence they could have notified us a lot earlier that they were not interested in taking us - they are unreliable.

Was a great experience. Ship captain and crew very friendly. Montague Island tour very informative. Kids loved the snorkeling with seals. Manager / boat captain (can't remember his name) went out of his way to organise with National Parks our entry on to Montague Island at late notice.

Great trip! A world class diving experience with crystal clear deep blue water, seals, huge rays, Port Jackson Sharks and thousands of schooling fishes. Norm and the crew were exceptional, knowledgable and very easy going and friendly. A super fun experience and we'd definitely recommend Narooma Charters.

Stunning views, great service, tour of Montague Island and lighthouse was very good. There were seals swimming nearby.

We, our family, purchased 2 tickets for my husband for his 70th Birthday back in January ( ticket No 48 - organized for Mr. David Richardson by our daughter, Nicole Richardson ). I'm trying to line up the tour, accommodation etc.for one of the weeks in Oct or either of the first two weeks in Nov. What I need to know is......Which of those weeks would we be most likely to see whales? Do the chartered boats go out every day? What times do they go out on the days they do go out? Can I book a tour online, and if so how do I go about it? Sorry, but my husband and I are retired pensioners who are not real computer savvy; we live on a farm just out of Albury, N.S.W., and I don't want to organize accommodation etc. and travel all the way over to the coast, only to miss out on the object of our visit!!!
