Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our Son took us to look at the Bar and Australia Rocks. It was a cold and wet day but well worth it.
The seals were out of the water by the dozens trying to sun bake on the break water wall under a cloudy sky.
There were Whales out in the ocean, but now and again we saw the splashes and jets of water going to air. Very interesting.

Such a beautiful spot - even though it's touristy, it's really quite amazing.
I didn't see any seals though - maybe they're only there at specific times of day?

The car parks are right next to this if here isn’t too many people around, seals basking along the rocks and some interesting rock shapes. Not a bad view of the bay too

An easy spot to reach and walk
The water and sandy bays are gorgeous, the seals are such fun to watch and SO close.
A must do in Narooma.

Went there to look at the view at the lookout, you can look out And see Montague Island in the distance on one side and the other side is the break water wall and river plus Australia Rock
If you walk down the stairs you can get a closer view of Australia rock. We then walked along the breakwater wall and saw several seals swimming close to the rocks and seals sunbaking within metres of the walkway. A fabulous experience. To get to the lookout drive down Bar Rock Drive, the lookout is well signposted.

The view is really nice and Australia Rock was great! We got some great photos and it really does look like Australia. Worth the visit if you're driving through Narooma.

Bar rock lookout and Australia rock are two of the many points of intrest that surround Narooma and are two locations definately must be on your list os things to see. Getting to both locations is extremely easy and can be accessed by either car or as we did walking. Walking arround this area is the best way to see the sites as by car you can easily miss out. The lookout overlooks the harbour bar and is located on the southern side up near the pilots house. From the lookout you can climb down staits to the southern breakwall and see Australia rock to yowards the ocean. Be sure to take both your camera and if you have them binoculars as the panorama is worth the effort.

We were towing a van and were advised by the information centre not to go right down to the entrance.
We parked up in the top car park which was good as there were a couple of great lookouts with fabulous views over Montague Island.
Australia Rock is amazing and there are some great angles to photograph it.
We walked along the break wall and saw quite a few Seals swimming as well as a number lying in the rocks sunning themselves.
Well worth a visit especially if you have kids that would like to see a Seal. However, don’t get too close as they can be unpredictable.

Aside from this rock, you can go up the stairs not far from this to see the barrier made for beach in Narooma.

Went for a walk while staying in Narooma to view something right out of the ordinary a map of Australia erroded in a rock (minus Tasmania of course) and some playful seals nearby. Could not wish for anything more.
Get views towards Montigue island one side and the bar and lovely beach over the other side.
This is one attraction well worth a visit. Free parking nearby and a lovely stroll out to the point.
The seals are resting nearby
