Food is ok. Typical club type food. Garlic prawns where nice. Bistro desperately needs an update. Please please remove the cigarette vending machine from right inside your front door! Hot rock night seems very popular.

We attended a friends party last night. The setting was just beautiful. The canapes were really delicious. The service was friendly and very helpful.
Can't praise it highly enough. We are locals and shall certainly be visiting more often.

excellent spot with beautiful river views. really good food. we had the cook yourself stone grill. steak was excellent, and sides etc very good. reasonably priced, and drinks at club prices. we will be back

We are at the restaurant inside the golf club. It was lovely, no one else was there! There’s great views of the water, music playing, the food came out quick and was good. We had the fish and chips and the steak and both were perfectly cooked. Friendly staff at the bar as well.

This Golf Club is situated on its own little island and is a great layout. The course is extremely well manicured and a must for golfers to play if in the area.

Golf course located on an island. Conditions fair and course relatively flat. Beautiful 19th hole looking out at the water. Warm and friendly staff at the pro shop.

We visited Nambucca Heads golf course in search of excellent greens and WOW we found them!! This course is in outstanding condition considering the lack of rain and it is with high praise I commend the green staff on the best putting surfaces I have played on in years!! A fantastic intriguing layout that rewards good golf shots!! Watching your golf ball spin on these greens is awesome!! Definitely a hidden treasure and for the price it blows more expensive courses out of the park!!

The Island Golf Club at Nambucca has a tremendous course that is both a great golfing experience and a magnificent setting. To stand on the second green and watch dolphins jump in the river as a sailboat glides past was extraordinary. There were so many great views to take in as you enjoy this great golf course.
The course occupies the whole of Stuart Island and is a flat easy walk. It is not long with only two par 5s but it is challenging enough with tight fairways and towering She-Oaks. The Bent grass greens are the highlight of the course with a reputation of being the best in the area. The club house boasts a deck overlooking the Nambucca River and is a great 19th hole.

Popped in here recently for a bit of a look see. Nothing else on the island other than the golf course, their clubhouse and a public access park. For me, a feeling of being a bit remote and paradisey, nice and quiet too.
Older style clubhouse I suppose with the restaurant but wonderfully situated on the island and the Nambucca River running right by the outdoor deck.
Naturally I checked out their menu. They have a very comprehensive dinner menu, all up about 30 items plus some kids meals.
Mains ranged from around $14 for a vegie burger up to around $38 for an eye fillet.
Also for dinner on Thursdays they have a steak special.
You can either cook your own on a stonegrill with a choice of eye fillet, scotch fillet or porterhouse, comes with an idaho potato, vegies or salad and a choice of sauce.
Or you can choose a chef cooked steak, only scotch fillet or porterhouse for this one, comes with salad, chips and a free drink.
Both $22. Pretty neat eh.
And they have a schnitzel night too on Wednesdays, $16.50 with a free drink.
Their lunch menu was pretty amazing with what seemed like everything was a special.
Just over 15 items to choose from with things like steak, schnitzel, fish and chips, casserole of the day, prawn cutlets, hamburger, calamari, salt and pepper squid, BLT, wraps, salads and a few others.
Everything under $15 except 2 items. Very good lunch value I thought.
Can’t comment on the food as I haven’t tried yet, maybe next trip.
I believe it’s definitely worth the short trip over to the delightful island.

The perfect way to spend a sunny morning in Nambucca Heads. Lots of friendly locals, and the course was in great condition!
