Great trail - Well put together and a credit to those involved...Beautiful scenery - Good food stops along the way.......BUT BEWARE, this trail is filled with bike riders, mostly on e-bikes or simulating a day on the Tour de France, all with no manners or capacity to ring a bell to warn of their sudden arrival, so be warned....Other than that, a great 24klm walk

I have been wanting to ride the rail trail since it opened earlier in the year. Finally made it and was not disappointed a lovely ride on a mixture of gravel and sealed track. At 24k long it is a decent ride end to end with return trip taking a few hours at a leisurely pace. I would highly recommend for family outings. Can’t wait for the trail to be extended.

Great to finally have a high quality rail trail in NSW. Outstanding trail through stunning countryside. Very well maintained and signposted with a healthy dose of History along the way. Was great remembering trips along here in the Murwillumbah XPT.

This is brilliantly conceived and developed. I ride the length from Crabbes Creek to Murwillimbah and back regularly and highly recommend it for cyclists and walkers of any level. The scenary and environment is spectacular. There are now lots of choices of where to stop and eat and have a toilet break, and the Burriingbar tunnel now has reflectors that make it easier to ride through, although you still need a decent light. You can make it a slow and very relaxing day or have a good workout, without cars and trucks to deal with. Make sure you have a bell on your ike to alert walkers and slower riders. Highly recommended

This rail trail is amazing.
Yes, the tunnel is dark which makes for an amazing experience!
There is plenty of info out there that tells you to bring some sort of light - most people have a phone these days if your bike doesn’t have one.
Preparation is the key.
The Tweed Valley art gallery up those stairs is a must.

Very well maintained trail. Easy to ride and all signage is perfect.
Suitable for inexperienced riders as well.
Make sure to have good lights or torch for the tunnel.

Fabulous trail. It is obvious a select few have trouble planning any type of outing so ignore them and just have a great time.

Great scenic rail trail! Fairly easy and flat most of the way and lots of interesting stops along the way.

We hired bikes from Valley eBikes in Murwillumbah. Mick is great to deal with and the bikes were in excellent condition. He gave us clear instructions on how to use the bikes and suggested cool stops along the way. The bikes also came with decent lights, which were essential through the long tunnel.

Overall we had a blast!

What a great tourist attraction & it was good to see the Northern Rivers Rail Trail was being well used

As only recently completely opened to the public .. Northern Rivers Rail Trail , is a pathway which follows the now disused Northern Rivers train line between Murwillumbah Railway Station / Murwillumbah Tourist Information Centre & Crabbes Creek Station

The trail is good for peddle & electric bikes .. as well as pedestrians / hikers

For the less totally energetic , you can start / finish your outing anywhere along the Northern Rivers Train Trail

As along the trail there are covered pit stop areas , with bike pumps

You can see the pathway whilst driving along Tweed Valley Way ( road )

My photos are from the Mooball section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail

What a great Rail Trail, lots of thought has gone into the development of this family friendly ride. Fascinating local and indigenous story signs along the way, great scenery, and some lovely little towns. We can’t wait for the remaining sections to be developed.
