About
Merimbula Marina is a small family owned business. Our passion is whale watching and for 8 months of the year this is what we do. May to August during the Norther Migration of the wonderful humpback whales we operate cruises out of Darling Harbour Sydney. And then for the Southern Migration from August to December we run daily cruises from Merimbula on the NSW South Coast. The Southern Migration from Merimbula is our favourite time of the year as so many whales pass close to the shore and the whale watching is sensational! Outside of the whale season we operate Scenic Discovery Cruises December to May. These cruises are a wonderful way to see the spectacular Sapphire Coast from the water and regularly sight a variety of marine life. We also operate fishing charters over the summer from Merimbula. We have 4hr Reef Fishing Charters, and during the Game Fishing Season we operate 8hr Game Fishing Charters. Private Charters can also be organised by contacting our office.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Highly recommend this company,we have done a few cruises with them from Merimbula and Bermagui and have always had a great time,Simon and his crew are so personable and extremely friendly and always make sure the passengers are fine, I would go so far as saying we would not cruise with any other company.

Definitely coming back. After having done 14 trips in 8 straight days, I would highly recommend Sapphire Coastal Adventures ... an outstanding whale and marine life watching tourism operator run by husband and wife team Simon and Jessica. Together with their crew, they go to great lengths to ensure their guests experience the best possible encounters that nature allows on the day.
Multiple land based spotters along both Bermagui and Merimbula coastlines ensure the whales are found as quickly as is possible. I saw not only lots of very active humpback whales but Brydes whales, Southern Right whales, hundreds of dolphins and plenty of Australian Fur seals ... along with stunning birdlife scouring the ocean and feeding on baitballs.
Whilst on the boat Simon and crew provide great knowledge and information on the marine life you witness which gives you the best possible perspective of what you are witnessing.
If you have a strong desire and/or passion for humpbacks whales then a visit to the Sapphire Coast and multiple trips with Sapphire Coast Adventures is a MUST!!!!

Check out Sapphire Coastal Adventures for some safe fun way to cruise the coast. This is one and the same Merimbula Marina run by Simon & Jessica, ably assisted by the boss "Roger" the dolphin seeking family dog. Perfect way to see the coast from the water in a comfortable, high speed, eco Tourist Vessel. Learnt alot about the area, bird life & dolphins. Simon & Jessica were very friendly & the resheduled trip was handled with ease & Jessica kept us well informed. We saw so many dolphins on our trip, they were diving under & along side the boat together with plenty of acrobatic displays. Roger was in his element voicing his delight at seeing his aquatic friends. The tour would be an absolute bonus for children.

I would highly recommend this company!
Firstly, the staff were absolutely outstanding. Nothing beats a warm & friendly welcome by very well presented & spoken crew. You get a real sense of pride from the staff who are also very knowledgeable.

The vessel itself was immaculate.
Clean, comfortable, and spacious.
Even has a great PA system which allows you to clearly hear the captain making his informative (and very interesting) announcements. You can tell the vessel, Bubbles, has been very well maintained.
The seating was so comfortable too!

The cruise was perfect.
In fact, I don’t think I would have minded if we didn’t even spot any whales, but we did!! And seals, and dolphins, and a sunfish!!! We even had the pleasure of having Rodger (a gorgeous kelpie) join us on our cruise. Be sure to give him lots of pats!

PS. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen!

We could not have had a better time than the time we spent on True Blue cruising around the Eden coast on Sunday 17/01/2021. it was a get together for a work occasion and Jessica and Simon where so helpful throughout the planning. The day itself was a day that delivered everything and so much more than what we expected I can’t recommend thisCruise highly enough it was magical and the crew where amazing.
Thank you True Blue for a perfect day from the Team at Target Merimbula

Easy to book and a good price.
We were very happy with the experience of seeing the whales. This is the first time that my husband and I had done this and it was a great experience.

We have been on whale watching tours before and not seen a single whale, so we were pleasantly surprised when no sooner had we crossed the sandbar that Roger the onboard dog alerted us to dolphins who continued to follow and jump alongside the boat. We then came across some whales who were just bobbing up every now and then. In the distance a breaching whale was spotted so the skipper went full steam ahead until we caught up with two whales, one of which continually dived, breached, rolled and pectoral slapped more than a dozen times! There was lots of cheering on board and the atmosphere, excitement and euphoria of seeing these magnificent creatures so close was not only from the passengers but the crew as well! An awesome experience provided by the team at Merimbula Marina.

Enjoyed a wonderful evening whale watching. Excellent crew great boat and wonderful setting. It didn't matter if we didn't see much action as the scenery was spectacular but we sure got action. Came across about 3 pods. Jumping out of the water they gave great photo opportunities. Very professional outfit
