Steve is an excellent instructor. Knowledgeable, personable and very supportive of our group of newbies. His instructions are clear, and assistance provided first rate. It was great to see the sting rays in the lake (some of them are enormous!) and be on the lake in the quiet and stillness of the early morning. I highly recommend Steve and the SUP experience!

Our family of 5 (teenagers) booked on for a beginner lesson with Steve. He was very calm and explained how it all worked and then took us out on the lake. Kids got the hang of it in no time, it took me a lot longer - balance is the key. Equipment was very good and he clearly knew what he was doing. I would recommend choosing a calm day - perhaps early in the morning. We would do this again.

Awesome experience so much fun - perfect day! Fantastic instructors so very patient ... daughters got a good laugh when mum feel in as did the husband!! Always wanted to try it so pleased we did Steve and his team are brilliant we will be back

My kids and I went stand up paddle boarding with Steve and we were all first timers. Steve was so patient and caring with my son who was getting really worried. He took extra care and attention with him and had him up paddle boarding in no time which has boosted his confidence. Steve was such a good communicator before and during the experience. Nothing was to hard and he has great local knowledge. He made this a highlight of our trip to Merimbula. You must do this!

Can’t thank Steve enough for such a great morning. He was so patient with the children and was a wonderful teacher. We all found it easy to pick up after some coaching and felt extremely safe. Such a fun activity for the family.

Steve could not of been any more helpful. He was very knowledgeable about the local conditions and that ensured we had a fantastic time.

Steve is an excellent instructor who makes it very easy for we stand-up-paddleboard virgins. We took a 7:00 am lesson on our first morning and it couldn't have been a better way to start our time in Merimbula - glorious day, a new skill, checking out what's to see and do. Just pretty much perfect.

Excellent family, group or individual activity. Great value for money. Steve is a great instructor. He was so calm with our 10 year old who was hesitant once we were on the water. Steve was very patient and spent extra time to get her going on her own in the end, so it ended up being "the best thing ever" (quote from 10 year old).
If you are thinking about having a go, don't hesitate - Merimbula Stand Up Paddle Lessons are the best.
You will be hooked.

We had a fantastic morning yesterday with this lesson! Steve is a great instructor and it is well worth taking the lesson. I'd paddleboarded on my own once before but it was much better with someone giving me guidance. I also had absolute beginners with me and they gained confidence very quickly. I really appreciated that when we were on the water and Steve was adjusting the route due to winds and tide, he explained why he was making the decisions he was. He wasn't just giving us a nice morning on the water, he was setting us up to make our own decisions the next time we try this.
If you're considering doing a lesson I'd definitely recommend it! You'll see much more, be more confident and be safer than if you just hire a board and try on your own.

Thanks so much for leaving such a great review! I hope that everyone who comes along for one of my lessons has the urge to keep on paddle boarding. That is why I like to teach everything starting from the weather conditions on the water and how to read them. Knowing what the wind and tide will do can be the difference between having a really bad experience or having the best time of your life!

I went twice it was amazing. Steve was friendly relaxed and safe .I had recently had a stroke with aphasia and I am 65 old lady
I wasn't able to paddle kneel and then stand up . Steve helped me standing up on at the shore and pushed into water. It was a great wonderful experience. Have a go
