- psykhSydney, Australia102 contributionsPerfect Boardwalk. Take care with kids under 3.A must. The weather was perfect and we heard bellbirds, whip birds, saw a blue wren, lizards, puffer fish, mud skippers and possibly mullet fish. At the end is a cafe where you can sit, sip and contemplate 🤔. Perfect!Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten 7 January 2023
- JessicaSouthCoastEurobodalla, Australia15 contributionsA stunning walkWhat a stunning walk. We took our children ranging from 6m-9yr, it was a long walk for the younger kids but we all loved it. Beautiful scenery, lots of fish and a gorgeous cafe at the end to grab a drink.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 February 2023
- Monique FMelbourne, Australia28 contributionsDelightful nature walkA lovely 1.75km walk along the board walk through the mangroves. You can see sea life, and pass by the oyster beds. It's definitely worth walking all the way to the end to Sunny's Kiosk - a delightful little licenced cafe on the water. And it's free of charge.Visited February 2023Written 19 February 2023

The walk along the Merimbula Boardwalk is beautiful. Parts of the boardwalk go over the water and the water level depends on the tide. The walk along the estuary is very peaceful with bird life and beautiful scenery. There are no railings on the boardwalk and it is wide enough to allow people to pass each other.

We stumbled upon this by mistake on an early morning walk and it was a fabulous path. The views were beautiful- the bay, oyster farms, mangroves, residential houses, overgrown bush.
It was a lovely space.

If you have enough energy, you can walk all the way to Sunny's for a coffee. It was great to take our grandchildren for a walk to see crabs coming out of their holes in the mud, herrons fishing and to hear the bellbirds. It's also good that there are seats conveniently located along the boardwalk where you can just sit and take it all in.

A pleasant easy walk along the lake with close up views of the Oyster leases. A cafe was located at the end of the walk but was closed. I dont know if it was a victim of Covid or it was closed during the winter months.
The walk starts close to town with Cafes and the Pub if you wanted to plan morning tea, lunch or dinner after the walk. Suitable for all levels of fitness
