Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I would not recommend using Unkya Eco Tours services as they have proven to be unreliable. I made a confirmed booking with Belinda for 2 people to attend the Whale Tail Tour on Saturday 27th January. 2018, I was told she would be our guide. When we turned up on Saturday at the designated meeting place, at the agreed time, no Belinda or anyone else representing Unkya Tourism. I phoned the mobile number I had previously spoken to Belinda on to make the booking and it went to voice mail. I then called the office landline. Same outcome! Very disappointing! I don’t understand why I wasn’t contacted to be informed the guide had changed and I don’t understand why she didn’t answer her phone on the day. I definitely would not be using this company in the future as it turned out to be a great inconvenience for me and my friend, who was visiting from Sydney, to drive 40 minutes there and back for a no show. Recently, (Aug. 2016) while on holiday at Nambucca Heads, myself and my sister (from Vic.) and her friend (local) all went on the "Bush to Beach" eco tour - Scotts Head.
We all agreed that it was a fantastic tour with excellent guides - who educated us on aboriginal culture.
We learned so many interesting things - aboriginal history via story telling, uses for different plants in the bush, we partook in a smoke ceremony and a cleansing ceremony, we saw dolphins and whales on our walk back along the beach and so much more.
I have been back in Vic. for two weeks and I am still telling people about my experience of it, and will continue to do so.
Looking forward to taking my partner with me next time so he may experience it also.
Be sure to have appropriate footwear for walking, a hat and water when you do it for yourself.
I highly recommend this tour and can't wait to go back and do it again. Just magic!

This is a new business offering walking tours of Scott's Head and the nearby Natioal Park. Belinda walked our family around Scott's Head for two hours, telling tradional stories of the Gumbaynggir people, explaining their Creation myth and the significance of the area from ancient times. Belinda was very knowledgeable on bush tucker and medicine and showed us an amazing fish trap. We really enjoyed the tour and learned a lot about indigenous culture and country. Highly recommended.
