Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place to rockpool at low tide and snorkelling at high tide, you get all the fish swimming around the coral.

The prices for snorkel gear rent too high. There are plastics discarded all over the beach and cigarette butts.

Swimming in crystal water with spectacular fish and relaxing on a calm beach. And the snorkel gear is available at a very reasonable cost. Hard to beat.

By far the best beach on LDH with beautiful white sand and crystal clear water. There is some amazing snorkelling right off the beach. Great visibility and the water was very warm in mid-Feb. I was surprised how tropical the fish were, and we even swam with a turtle and a Galapagos shark.

Ned's Beach is a lovely beach with good snorkeling. It is probably the best snorkeling off the beach on the island. In the afternoon you will likely see the sharks coming into the shallow waters. See photos.
Be warned that the water is cold on Lord Howe Island. I wore a spring suit nearly everyday - but then I feel the cold. You can hire snorkeling equipment, including wet suits at the beach. You can also buy food to feed the fish at the beach.
There are also barbecues on the grassed area - a lovely place to have dinner.

Snorkelling off Ned's is incredible, and something we returned to with the whole family (ages 6 to 78) on our trip. Stay in the shallows if you're a learner, head out around the back for some of the best reef and sea life we've seen anywhere in the world.

What an amazing beach this is where the water is so clear you can swim with the fish and see what's around you in the water. The beach is clean and a notice board shwos you the types of fish you can see or what's around.

Feeding the fish and seeing the terns nesting close to where one was sitting is an amazing experience. The birds in particular seemed to be oblivious to humans, notwithstanding the number of chicks there.

Must visit. Excellent and easy snorkeling right off the beach. Kids 8&11 loved it. Excellent array of bright fish and coral. We brought own equipment but easy honour system rental at beach. Also fish food for $2. Family loved feeding fish and amazed at how they come up to you if you wade in. Also attracted Galapagos shark (they are harmless) which was a real thrill to see. Walks on headland. Good facilities. Such a calm and beautiful spot
