A must to visit
Nov. 2021
Beautiful beach, and when we were there, quiet and peaceful. Go in the early morning. The Terns were nesting and very protective and it was lovely to see them and get some photos. We walked there and back from Arajilla Retreat.

Amazingly friendly fish
Jul. 2021
The wet suits were valuable in the slightly chilly water but the fish surrounded us. It was an amazing sight. Don't miss this magic place on Lord Howe Island.

A must-do!
May 2021
Ned's beach was a highlight of our trip. The sand is white and the water is so blue, so its great for snorkelling (however the surf can be a little rougher than other spots on the island as it isn't protected by the reef). Be sure to bring along some $1 coins to purchase pellets to feed the fish, as this is an experience not to be missed. Because of this, it tends to be busier than the other beaches but is definitely worth the visit.

Snorkellers paradise
Apr. 2021
Fabulous snorkelling off the beach. The reefs were really healthy and the marine life amazing. Small sharks, starfish and all the beautiful coloured tropical fish you’d hope to see! Several BBQs overlooking the beach, with many of the guesthouses offering bbq or picnic packs delivered to the site. It is a short walk or cycle up & over the hill from the centre of “town”.

You'll never want to leave this World Heritage, pristine bay teeming with fish and coral. Take a picnic and some coins to feed the fish.

Great snorkelling and often the only sheltered place of easterly weather prevails.
BBQ’s and tables great for lunch or just chill on the grass.

Quintessential LHI
Apr. 2021
Ned's Beach is the quintessential LHI experience. We visited it on our first day on the island and came back at least every second day (it helped that we were staying nearby). Feeding the fish is great fun and the swimming and snorkeling here are first rate (though we were disappointed we didn't see turtles here). There was even a surf break for a couple of days. There are toilets, BBQ facilities, and large grassy areas for lazing, playing, and picnicking. I thought an added (and overlooked) bonus here was the profuse local birdlife - sooty terns, welcome swallows swooping overhead and a group of ruddy turnstones bustling along the shoreline.

White sand, fish and snorkelling
Mar. 2021
One of Australia's best beaches with wonderful clean fine sand, fish to feed at the shores edge and some superb snorkelling only metres from beach. Change facilities, bbq, tables and picnic area plus fish food all avilable. Safe swimming. Just superb.

We so enjoyed our visits to Neds with wonderful snorkeling just off the shore - corals and fish galore and the odd turtle too.
