About Chase ‘n’ Thyme Tours
Chase n Thyme the experience you never expected! There was a wonderful film from the 1980s “My Beautiful Laundrette” all about turning the chore of washing your clothes into an experience, fun and entertainment. We have very much based our journey on this theme, that surprise experience you never expected! If Lord Howe Island was a book it would have a glossy cover. Chase n Thyme is all about the many and varied pages of the book that makes its glossy cover. More that a tour, a journey from past to present, some fun, a photo or three, an education, a very unique experience and a treat at our home! If you want that feeling of “ticking all the boxes” you need to find out how it all came to be, Chase n Thyme, you have come along way to miss so much? Don’t take our word for it, no better recommendation than our guests and their comments on Tripadvisor. The island’s first tour inducted to Tripadvisor’s, Hall of Fame. Don’t leave without the Howe, what, when, where and why?

Peter was an exceptionally knowledgeable, flexible and amenable host for a 3.5hr tour of the island. The small group made for a quite personal experience with Peter fielding many varied questions across a great span of island living topics as the tour poked its way into every interesting nook and cranny that can be approached by mini-bus. Flora, fauna, environmental management, history, health, governance and administration; no topic was untouched by either the commentary or the breadth of Peter’s knowledge in response to questions. This tour was a wonderful way to get the lay of the land and absorb the diversity of all facets of Lord Howe Island life.

We travelled with Peter as a large group of Probus members spread over several days. I found Peter's coverage of the island and commentary to be so thorough that we felt we gained a great idea of what the island had to offer and its past and present. Well worth the effort if you are a first time visitor and like to take in everything.

A 3.5 hour tour around the island, great for orienting yourself and seeing the distance between places, as you walk or ride everywhere during your stay on Lord Howe. Peter's knowledge of the island and history is so informative and entertaining, not usually a bus tour person, this was an exception. Finishing with tea/coffee and muffins at his home prepared by his lovely wife is just typical or Lord Howe hospitality.
