Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Coopers Cottage is conveniently located on Morilla Street.
Built in 1916 from anything available, this miners cottage is an authentic example of the mining life in Lightning Ridge at the time.
The inside is not accessible but you can peer through the windows to see what's left of it - understandably it is supported internally as it would probably collapse in a good wind!

Cannot miss this old building on the main road. A shame its been let go and there is no entry. Would make a great museum or gift shop hilighting local aspects of history.

Difficult to quantify the impact of this falling/fallen down OLD cottage. Must admit I did not take too much time reading about the history and maybe that should be done to fully appreciate the experience. Worth while a look, a read and a photo.

Great photographic structure. Peering inside showed some interesting building techniques and some very old discarded furniture and detritus.

You can only view from the outside, easy to find. Gives an insight into the hardships of living out here, particularly in summer.

Saw this very old cottage on a main road in Lightning Ridge. Worth a look inside to see how people lived, and no cost for entry.

It's hard to miss on the main street and well worth a stop to take a photo of the 103 year old hut. You cannot go inside, but it's easy to see the hard life the owners must have had over the years.

Check it out as you go by.One of the first dwellings in the district, In rather disrepair. Situated almost right on town you could easily drive past it.

Blast from the past and right in the middle of town.
Managed to get a picture of the interior using the flash.
