About
The Leeton Visitors Information Centre building was erected around 1913 to house the Chief Engineer of the Water Conservation and Irrigation Commission. As well as providing information on local attractions, it is also an art gallery and point of sale for locally made products. View the Men's Shed handmade items or locally made jams, relishes and chocolates. Enjoy the Tastes of Leeton demonstration (11.30am daily) or simply relax in the gardens.

Very Helpful Staff, Lovely Building

The building which houses the Leeton Information Centre is just gorgeous.
We visited to find out what there was to do in and around the area.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming and helped us to find what suited us.
They gave us a map and directions to the wetlands which was our first port of call. So helpful!

On arrival in Leeton we dropped into the Visitor centre and were greeted by a lovely and very helpful lady by the name of Cathy. She passed on to us all the local tips and recommendations with such enthusiasm that we couldn't wait to start exploring the next day. She also gave us some n depth information on the Art Deco buildings in the town as well as Walter Burley Griffin's part in the history of the township of Leeton.
Highly recommend a stop at the visitor centre before exploring Leeton, especially if you are new to the town.

Wonderful staff who answered all my questions. Provided lots of suggestions as well. The three women on duty today were a delight to meet and they are an amazing group providing so much goodwill and joy. Thank you! Well done! I will certainly be back.?

The "Taste Of Leeton" introduction to the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area is a sensible way to begin to understand the region. The enthusiastic duet of Kathy and Ray give all who attend a huge amount of information on the history and present directions of the agriculture and industry of the MIA. My only criticism would be to structure more the information offered as one of the presenters gets easily sidetracked.

I thought the assistant was pleasant, the lay out of the items for sale were attractive in an attractive setting, but the assistant on duty the day I visited, was a little reluctant to be forthcoming with additional information. It was cold and pouring with rain, that may have had something to do with it!!

My travel buddy and I called into this centre just before the official closing time (12midday) on a Saturday. We left the centre around 1.15 pm! I would not suggest that you do this but it shows how obliging the staff of this centre are. Very interesting information especially relating to the great local agricultural industries. Thank you for your dedication in promoting your town and region. We can understand your pride in the area.
